VEEGUM® Ultra Magnesium Aluminum Silicate is a unique acidic smectite clay that produces dispersions in the 4.2-5.2 pH range for optimum compatibility with the naturally acidic pH of the skin. VEEGUM Ultra is the easiest of all the grades to hydrate and has a unique white color. VEEGUM Ultra is for use in any low pH formulation and is particularly useful in sunscreens, acne treatments, and exfoliants. VEEGUM Ultra is a highly purified smectite clay suspension stabilizer, emulsion optimizer and rheology modifier. VEEGUM Ultra also reduces the slippery or sticky feel of gums and polymers, while providing a silky, tack-free feel in topical preparations. VANZAN® NF is widely used as a rheology control agent for aqueous systems. It increases viscosity, helps to stabilize emulsions, and prevents the settling of solids in a wide variety of animal care applications. VANZAN NF is recommended for use in both acidic and alkaline systems and will retain nearly constant viscosity between pH 2 and pH 12. Mixtures of xanthan gum with water-swellable clays or certain galactomannans produce synergistic rheological effects. The mixtures will provide greater thickening, stabilizing and suspending properties than those developed by the individual components of the mixture.

VANZAN® NF-C Xanthan Gum produces clear xanthan gum solutions for applications where clarity is essential. VANZAN® NF-C is widely used as a rheology control agent for aqueous systems. It increases viscosity and prevents the settling of solids in a wide variety of animal care applications. VANZAN® NF-C solutions is remarkably stable over a broad temperature range and will not change significantly between ambient temperature and 60°C. Additionally, VANZAN® NF-C has excellent freeze/thaw stability. VANZAN® NF-C is recommended for use in both acidic and alkaline systems and will retain nearly constant viscosity between pH 2 and pH 12. VEEGUM® K Magnesium Aluminum Silicate Provides good suspension at low viscosity while having low acid demand and high electrolyte and acid compatibility. Its relatively low viscosity contribution allows it to be used at levels high enough to enhance skin cleansing. VANATURAL® XGB Bentonite Clay is a synergistic blend of natural bentonite and xanthan gum that hydrates quickly, even with low shear mixing in unheated water. The combination of bentonite clay and xanthan gum will provide greater thickening, stabilizing and suspending properties than those developed by the individual components of the mixture. VANATURAL XGB imparts a pleasant application feel while reliably stabilizing water-based suspensions and emulsions over a broad range of pH and storage temperatures. VAN GEL® B Magnesium Aluminum Silicate is the most economical grade for general industrial applications. VAN GEL B is a highly purified smectite clay suspension stabilizer, emulsion optimizer and rheology modifier. This smectite clay is synergistic with common thickeners such as VANZAN® xanthan gum and CMC. These combinations will provide greater thickening, stabilizing and suspending properties than those developed by the individual components of the mixture. VAN GEL B is used in household and institutional cleaners, polishes, and caustic cleaners.

VEEGUM® D Magnesium Aluminum Silicate is a dental care grade that ensures a stable and short paste or gel with excellent brush stand-up, flavor release and rinse ability. VEEGUM D works synergistically with organic gum binders, allowing the fine-tuning of dentifrice properties with minimal inhibition of fluoride recovery. VEEGUM D also reduces the slippery, stringy or sticky feel of gums and polymers. The incorporation of soluble pyrophosphate with VEEGUM D maximizes fluoride bioavailability.

VAN GEL® SX Magnesium Aluminum Silicate is a synergistic blend of natural bentonite and xanthan gum that hydrates quickly, even with low shear mixing in unheated water. The combination of smectite clay and xanthan gum will provide greater thickening, stabilizing and suspending properties than those developed by the individual components of the mixture. VAN GEL SX is recommended for difficult to stabilize suspensions and emulsions.

Low cost reinforcer and inert filler for all elastomers. Used in non-black stocks of all types. Lighter color, and increases modulus less than DIXIE CLAY®.

PYRAX® ABB Pyrophyllite is a finely ground pyrophyllite is an inert, non-hygroscopic, neutral pH mineral which provides optimal compatibility with pesticide actives, and is safe for plants and animals. PYRAX® ABB has a relatively high bulk density, resulting in “heavy” dusts that drift less on application to plants, and that enable animal dusts to penetrate fur for good skin contact.

DARVAN® 811D Dispersing Agent is a blend of sodium polyacryalte and sodium polymethacrylate in powder form. It is an effective dispersant of mineral pigment slurries such as kaolin clay, calcium carbonate, wollastonite and TiO2.

DARVAN® 2 Dispersing Agent is a sodium lignosulfonate dispersant for the preparation of aqueous dispersions of pesticide particles. DARVAN 2 provides for optimum dispersion of pesticide particles in water, contributing to reduced viscosity. DARVAN 2 can be used in suspension concentrates, as well as in wettable powders and water dispersable granules.

VANSIL® W-10 Wollastonite is a coarse grade of wollastonite with approximately 20% retained on a 325 mesh sieve. VANSIL W-10 can be used as a general purpose extender pigment where ultra-fineness is not required such as texture paints and block fillers. The naturally high pH of wollastonite helps to buffer latex paints and coatings, which contributes to improved corrosion resistance and weathering. This also extends in-can stability and prolongs the lifetime of the coating.

DARVAN® 1 Spray Dried Dispersing Agent is a sodium polynaphthalenesulfonate powder dispersant for the preparation of aqueous dispersions of pesticide particles. DARVAN® 1 Spray Dried provides for optimum dispersion of pesticide particles in water, contributing to reduced viscosity. DARVAN® 1 Spray Dried can be used in suspension concentrates, as well as in wettable powders and water dispersable granules.

VANZAN® D Xanthan Gum is a surface-treated grade of xanthan gum that provides easy dispersion with rapid viscosity development, without the formation of lumps or “fish eyes”. VANZAN D is surface-treated to make it temporarily insoluble. This facilitates dispersion and prevents the gum from dissolving until the surface treatment is removed by raising the pH of the system to 9 or greater. It is particularly convenient for systems where the final pH is alkaline. The rheology of VANZAN D solutions is remarkably stable over a broad temperature range and will not change significantly between ambient temperature and 60°C. Additionally, VANZAN D has excellent freeze/thaw stability.

An airfloated fine particle size South Carolina kaolin clay. Due to the particle structure it can be used as a major filler in coatings and adhesives without effecting formulation performance.

VANSIL® WG Wollastonite is a high aspect ratio, long needle grade of wollastonite. It is used principally as a mineral filler and reinforcing agent to enhance mechanical strength properties in high build coatings, texture paint, and block fillers. In high film build coatings, the needle-like shape of VANSIL WG improves mud crack resistance and sag resistance, while also contributing to peak retention in texture coatings. The naturally high pH of wollastonite helps to buffer latex paints and coatings, which contributes to improved corrosion resistance and weathering. This also extends in-can stability and prolongs the lifetime of the coating. In calcium silicate board and fiber cement, VANSIL WG increases flexural and compressive strength, reduces shrinkage, and reduces cracking. It is recommended that high aspect ratio grades of VANSIL be added late in process to avoid possible damage to the needle structure from high shear mixing.

DARVAN® 7-N Dispersing Agent is a sodium polymethacrylate dispersant in solution. It is very effective for dispersing mineral fillers in latex paint formulas.

DARVAN® 670 Dispersing Agent is a sodium polynaphthalenesulfonate powder dispersant for the preparation of aqueous dispersions of pesticide particles. An airfloated ultra fine particle size South Carolina kaolin clay that can be used as a reinforcing filler in all types of coatings, adhesives, elastomers and latexes.

PYRAX® WA Pyrophyllite is a unique natural mixture of platy silicates, principally pyrophyllite, and quartz. PYRAX WA has a coarser particles size than PYRAX B. As a replacement for mica, PYRAX WA is an excellent filler in joint compounds and dry wall muds. PYRAX WA imparts mud crack resistance to high build coatings such as texture paints and block fillers. PYRAX WA is a good inert filler for use in contractor flat paints, where it contributes to improved low angle sheen control and scrub resistance. When used in exterior paints, the neutral pH of pyrophyllite yields reduced frosting.

ACTIV-8® HGL Drier Stabilizer and Accelerator is used to improve dry times in water-borne paints and coatings that dry by oxidative polymerization. ACTIV-8 HGL functions as a chelating agent for the primary driers cobalt and manganese. It also helps to stabilize water-reducible alkyd and alkyd emulsion paints against loss-of-dry on aging.

DARVAN® 821-A Dispersing Agent is primarily recommended for use in the electronic and specialty ceramic fields where a low soda content is required. DARVAN® 821-A is used in slurries of ferrites and casting slips from high oxide electronic bodies.

VANZAN® NF-F is a finely ground powder version of VANZAN NF designed for applications such as reconstituable powders and dry powder formulations

McNAMEE® Clay is a low cost air-floated kaolin reinforcer and inert filler. It is also used in crack fillers, caulking compounds, and elastomers.

VANSIL® W-50 Wollastonite is the finest of the low aspect ratio grades of VANSIL (6+ Hegman fineness). This grade is suitable for liquid industrial and corrosion resistant coatings, powder coatings and semi-gloss architectural coatings. In powder coatings, this grade is desirable for smoother films and improved gloss. VANATURAL® CA is a unique rheology modifier, suspending agent and emulsion stabilizer for personal care products. It is a natural, water washed bentonite clay that provides acid pH aqueous dispersions.
