2K550 flame-retardant abrasion resistant conformal coating is a solvent-free two-part polyurethane conformal coating. It has been carefully formulated to combine the protection and properties of an encapsulation resin, while keeping the ease of application of a conformal coating. 2K550 is formulated for application using specially designed applicators from both PVA (VPX-2KS) and Nordson Asymtek (Latest in the AM Range) selective coating machines. 2K550 is applied more thickly than the average coating (150-350μm) providing excellent edge coverage over component leads and packages, while its extreme flexibility prevents cracking during thermal shock testing.

2K500 abrasion reisitant conformal coating is a hard, two-part polyurethane conformal coating system which provides the best protection properties of an encapsulation resin, with the ease of application of a conformal coating. It can be easily applied to provide excellent edge coverage, even areas with difficult geometries, this allows the highest levels of protection even in harsh environments. 2K500 is optically clear and maintains this clarity even after prolonged exposure to UV light making it a good choice to protect LED boards. It is also more abrasion resistant than 2K300 so it more suited to exposed applications.

It features highly fluorescing, one part, 100% solid, dual cure acrylate polyurethane conformal coatings. They provide excellent chemical resistance, surface hardness, flexibility, and moisture resistance. After cure, these products provide excellent protection for all surfaces against dust, chemicals and harsh environmental factors. They also increase their biocompatibility and ability to retain relatively brilliant fluorescence, allowing coating inspection under UV light. The cure of shadow areas can be accomplished using a secondary heat cure.

Using an innovative technology to combine the 2K technology with a UV cure mechanism 2K850 utilizes a faster processing time while still offering superb levels of protection. In addition to the UV cure, 2K850 has a consistent and reliable secondary chemical cure, even in shadow areas. In comparison to other single part UV conformal coatings, 2K850 is extremely efficient with a tack-free touch dry time of just a few minutes, and a full cure of just 24 hours, compared to the industry moisture cure average of about 8-14+ days, or requiring an additional thermal process of 1 hour curing at 120°C.
