Wawona Frozen Foods Pears has a long tradition of processing quality frozen fruit and this extends across the entire product line. In addition to the flagship peaches, pears have grown in popularity as a healthy, delicious snack as well as an ingredient in salads, yogurt, baked goods, etc. Wawona sources pears from the great Northwest, where 90% of U.S. pears are grown. Wawona’s growers harvest at the perfect time, when the pears are mature but not completely ripe, as pears ripen best off the tree. By the time the pears arrive at Wawona’s processing facilities, the pears are at their freshest level, creating a quality frozen product.
