Wawona Frozen Foods is the oldest, largest and most prestigious family-owned company in the frozen peach industry. From orchards throughout California, including 600 acres of company-owned trees in Clovis, peaches are carefully hand-picked at harvest and transferred to the processing facility. After washing, sizing, pitting, peeling and frequent inspections, the golden peach halves move on conveyor belts by professional graders who separate the fruit into Wawona’s four product lines:

  • The perfect peaches are selected as Signature Sliced Peaches for desserts
  • A large number of peaches head to the blast freezer to be individually quick frozen (IQF) for peach products, blends, yogurts, etc.
  • Softer peaches are sliced and designated for ice cream manufacturers
  • The overripe fruit is sent to the purée line where Vitamin C and sugar are added
