Delfos is the product name for Sonac’s dicalciumphosphate-dihydrate (DCP.2H2O). It is produced from animal bones that have been crushed and degreased. This material is left during 5 days in a HCl solution to dissolve the gelatin and bone phosphate. Gelatin is separated and the remaining phosphate is carefully precipitated by addition of calcium hydroxide: here Delfos is created.

Hydro-P Premium is a collagen hydrolysate. It is a natural, high-purity and hypoallergenic food-grade ingredient. Collagen hydrolysate can help to ease the symptoms of osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. It can also help to heal wounds and burns.

MucoPro is Sonac’s new natural protein. It is concentrated hydrolyzed porcine mucosal tissue. In dedicated European slaughterhouses the mucosal tissue of pig intestines is separated from the outer lining. Through enzymatic hydrolysis, pharmaceutical heparin is produced from this mucosa. The hydrolyzed mucosa is processed in order to remove fat and insoluble parts. Subsequently, the product is desalinated (a proprietary process), gently concentrated and finally spray dried (powder) to create an usable and storable product.

BP85 is derived from porcine origin collagen, as such derived from animals which have been declared fit for human consumption by ante- and post mortem inspection. BP85 is a functional protein with a high level of protein and a low content of fat. BP85 offers a water binding capacity of maximum 1:15. The 100 mesh particle size, unique in it’s sort, gives the protein also cold set binding properties and increases viscosity in water based solutions.

Sonac Hemoglobin Powder - Aqua is a high protein alternative for fish meal. Vegetable protein sources are widely available but the replacement of fish meal by those vegetable proteins is limited in some aquatic species. The main nutritional problems associated with higher utilization of vegetable protein sources are unbalanced amino acid profile, lower digestibility of amino acids, high fiber content, presence of anti-nutritional factors and low availability of Phosphorus. This is especially true for more carnivorous fish species or for aquatic species with a rudimentary digestive system such as larval fish, juveniles, and shrimp. In these diets, hemoglobin offers an excellent source of concentrated protein.
