Niacet’s acetates, mainly sodium acetate are used in the production of insulin. Additionally, as a constituent in insulin products, sodium acetate acts as an oxidative fuel preventing the body from producing antibodies during insulin injection. Sodium Acetate is available as an agglomerate and a powder (anhydrous) as well as a crystal (trihydrate). Sodium Acetate trihydrate is very soluble in water. Sodium Acetate anhydrous agglomerate offers the properties of non-dustiness, improved wettability, higher reactivity, higher bulk density, and improved free-flow ability.

Pharmaceutical grade Calcium Acetate can be used as a phosphate binder to treat Hyperphosphatemia (elevated blood phosphorus levels). Calcium Acetate is available as white powder or agglomerate. These two versions are chemically identical and differ only in physical form. The agglomerate offers the properties on non-dustiness, improved wettability, higher reactivity, higher bulk density, and improved free-flow ability.
