Select Ingredients was founded in 1994 by Dr. Bruce Howe. As a health care provider and clinical nutritionist, he consulted to thousands of individuals over the years. It was during this time that he realized how important good nutritional habits were in the repair and recovery of a healthy body and mind. Understanding the importance of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and antioxidants from whole food complexes, he set out to develop products from organic fruits, vegetables, botanicals, and plant proteins that offer these nutrients, just the way nature intended.

EXCELLENCE AND PROFESSIONALISM
MDV strictly complies with all USDA and FDA regulations for manufacturing practices, and a complete HACCP program. Raw vegetables are sorted, cleaned, and steam peeled to remove the skin prior to cutting/sizing. Our product is carefully blanched and air-dried to assure quality texture and taste. Our products are screened for size, color sorted, and passed over magnets and through metal detectors prior to being packaged into bags or boxes.
RIGOROUS LABORATORY TESTING
MDV performs an exclusive three-step process that kills all pathogens and provides for extremely low microbiological counts. Our In-House Lab performs micro biological testing and grades all products to customer specifications. Extensive testing with state of the art equipment, ensures the highest quality of dehydrated vegetables. Highly trained and dedicated employees monitor all produce from the moment the crop is planted, through final packaging. Pesticide Residue Testing also meets our strict requirements. MDV's products are Orthodox Union Kosher certified.
PERSONALIZED APPROACH
Upon request, MDV will provide detailed Certificates of Analysis. MDV schedules annual BRC Certified audits (Food Processors Association-Supplier Audits for Food Excellence) and welcomes customer visits and supplier audits. The BelGioioso story began over a century ago when the great-grandfather of BelGioioso President, Errico Auricchio, founded a cheese company based on a philosophy of excellence. In 1979, Errico moved his family from Italy to America with the goal of continuing his great-grandfather’s legacy. He wanted to craft the best Italian cheeses in the United States.
When Errico came to America, he scoured the United States in search of the highest quality milk to begin his goal of making exceptional specialty cheeses. It was in Wisconsin, “America’s Dairyland”, that he found the dedicated farmers and abundant green pastures and corn fields that produce superior milk. Wisconsin milk was and still is simply unbeatable.
In addition to his immediate family, Errico also brought with him two master cheesemakers, Mauro and Gianni. To these gentlemen, making cheese isn’t a job, it’s a calling. They carry with them a strict focus on quality and an unending passion for crafting flavorful cheeses using artisan methods. Mauro & Gianni remain part of the BelGioioso family today and work tirelessly to share their wisdom with each new generation of cheesemakers.
Together, Errico, Mauro & Gianni began by making cheeses familiar to American consumers such as Provolone, Parmesan and Romano. Soon, consumers wanted more; new cheeses, new flavors and new aromas. Over time, we introduced cheeses previously unknown in America. Mascarpone, CreamyGorg®, Italico® and American Grana® have now become favorites. Today, BelGioioso manufactures, ages, packages and ships over twenty five varieties of specialty cheese with new cheeses continuously in development.
