HexPly® F655™ is a bismaleimide resin that cures via an addition reaction in a toughened two-phase thermoset matrix with no condensation by-products. HexPly® F655™ is a controlled flow polyimide resin system designed for alternative processing capabilities such as co-curing over honeycomb core, compression molding, as well as standard autoclave processing.

HexTool® M61 Tooling Compound is randomly layered strips of uni-directional prepreg which is consolidated into rolled goods. It can be utilized as multi-ply quasi-isotropic hand lay-up, and subsequently CNC milled to close tolerance. HexTool® has proved to be dimensionally stable with the ability to hold vacuum integrity before and after machining, and after more than 500 part cure cycles. Fabricated from Hexcel’s BMI resin HexPly® M61, HexTool® tools are ideally suited for 180°C (356°F) cure carbon fiber tools. This makes them lighter weight, more energy efficient than tools made of steel or Invar®, and more cost-effective with tighter mold tolerance than standard composites.

Toray TC890 high temperature polyimide prepreg system utilizes PROOF Research Advanced Composites Division 900HT resin system. TC890 is a high temperature, polyimide-based thermoset prepreg with outstanding dry property retention at 343°C (650°F), wet service property retention at 288°C (550°F), and short-term and intermittent service temperature capability to 427°C (800°F). TC890 has been successfully demonstrated in short term, transient heating Applicationss to temperatures as high as 1300°F. TC890 is an excellent non-MDA replacement for high temperature PMR-15 Applicationss. TC890 prepreg system is easily processable and thermally stable, exhibiting the highest glass transition temperature of commercially available structural matrices. Renegade Materials Corporation RM-3002 “next-generation” BMI delivers improved damage tolerance at higher temperatures vs. industry-standard BMI’s. Renegade Materials’ prepregs exhibit excellent tack, out-time and handling characteristics and are precision made for the highest lot to lot consistency available in the composites industry. RM-3002 prepregs are available on various fabrics including carbon, quartz and S2 glass. Renegade Materials offers similar performance in a Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) resin system (RM-3000). Paste (RM-3006 and RM-3007) and Film (RM-3011) Adhesives compatible with RM-3002 round out our BMI product line.

Hexcel tooling fabrics are produced from high-performance bismaleimide (BMI) resin and carbon fiber utilizing Hexcel’s proprietary PrimeTex® spreading technology. PrimeTex® fabrics are inherently more uniform as the filaments in each tow are spread creating a closed fabric with lower interstitial porosity and reduced resin rich regions normally seen in other tooling fabrics. The resulting tooling surface enables quality part production with less post cure processing of finished part surfaces.

Renegade Materials Corporation RM-3004 prepreg products offer an Out of Autoclave (OOA) option for processing BMI’s. This very unique chemistry can be processed into low-void, high quality, thick laminates with only a vacuum bag in the oven. Yet it still delivers excellent hot/wet performance and durability in airframe, missile and propulsion applications at service temperatures up to 400°F (204°C). RM-3004 (OOA) BMI delivers comparable damage tolerance at high temperatures to industry-standard Autoclave Processed BMI’s. Although developed for structural applications, RM-3004 also offers some unique advantages for tooling. Renegade precision-quality prepregs exhibit excellent handling characteristics and are available in woven and unidirectional form on various fibers including carbon, quartz and S2 glass. A wide variety of nano-materials can be incorporated into this resin system for tailored laminate properties and multi-functional performance. Renegade has formulated compatible BMI Paste Adhesive products (RM-3006, RM-3007) for use with RM-3004 prepregs. Renegade also offers BMI resin systems for RTM (RM-3000) or VARTM (RM-3010) infusion processing.

HexPly® F652 is a bismaleimide resin that cures via an addition reaction with no condensation by-products. HexPly® F652 is a controlled flow polyimide resin system designed for alternative processing capabilities such as co-curing over honeycomb core, compression molding, as well as standard autoclave processing.

HexPly® F650 is a bismaleimide resin that cures via an additional/free radical mechanism resulting in a crosslinked thermoset system with no condensation by-products. HexPly® F650 was developed by Hexcel to overcome existing limitations for use on complex structures and ducting in advanced military aircraft, helicopters, and many other high temperature applications. HexPly® F650 simplifies fabrications and delivers a more costeffective end product.

GMS Composites BP – 190 is a formulated Bismaleimide matrix prepreg, with long out life. The product is suitable for continuous use up to 200°C. BP-190 has been developed for the manufacture of high performance composite tools. After initial curing in an autoclave the tool can be demoulded and cured in a fan forced oven as a free standing component.

HexPly® M65 is a bismaleimide resin that cures via an addition reaction in a toughened two-phase thermoset matrix with no condensation by-products. HexPly® M65 is a controlled bimaleimide resin system designed for alternative processing capabilities such as co-curing over honeycomb core, compression molding, as well as standard autoclave processing. HexPly® M65 has improved tack levels and performs well for fiber placement applications.

Toray RS-8HT is a BMI resin that provides excellent elevated temperature properties and processability. RS-8HT has been evaluated and qualified in the areas of satellite and airframe/missile structures. RS-8HT is also available in several modified formulations including: RS-8M, a high service temperature controlled flow formulation. 204°C (400°F) Cure BMI Resin System
