Performance additives

ULTRA-LUBE™ IMX is a highly effective internal lubricant and dispersing aid for specialty elastomers, like HNBR, XNBR, ECO and exotic polymers. ULTRA-LUBE™ IMX is a synergistic blend of primary amide and a highly thermal stable fatty acid derivative, thus shrinkage after post curing will not be affected. ULTRA-LUBE™ IMX improves mold and extrusion flow, prevents sticking on metallic surfaces and greatly enhances surface feel and finish of finished rubber articles.

ULTRA-LUBE™ 420 is a processing additive for applications in all elastomers. ULTRA-LUBE™ 420 provides very good lubricating effects and helps to improve flow and mold release. ULTRA-LUBE™ 420 shows excellent performance in highly filled EPDM compounds. No adverse effect on physicals is noted and its saturated structure makes it suitable for peroxide vulcanisation.

ULTRA-FLOW™ ZEH is an effective activator for sulfur curing systems of NR. It can partially or completely replace stearic acid and works to reduce stress relaxation and creep of NR parts. It can also improve the reversion resistance of NR compounds as well as compression set of NR vulcanisates.

ULTRA-FLOW™ 500 is a very effective additive for the physical peptization of NR. It can be applied in polymer pre-mastication as well as in the masterbatch phase of single stage mixing. The available double bonds in ULTRA-FLOW™ 500 stabilize free radical formation, thus improving reversion resistance and tear strength. ULTRA-FLOW™ 500, if applied at the recommended dosage, does not bloom from vulcanisates due to its wide solubility limit. As a process additive for solution SBR, ULTRA-FLOW™ 500 reduces compound viscosity and increases flow as well as reversion resistance.

ULTRA-BLEND™ 2000 improves the building tack of synthetic rubber compounds. It displays outstanding long term tackifying effects. ULTRA-BLEND ™M 2000, as opposed to standard tackifier, shows its strength in aged tack improvement at relatively low dosage levels; between 3 and 5 phr.

ULTRA-FLEX™ AS is an antistatic plasticiser, designed to reduce the surface resistivity of rubber compounds. The application is predominantly in mineral filled systems where, as opposed to carbon black filled, conductivity is very low. Depending on formulation, surface resistivity of 1 x 107 Ω can be achieved. ULTRA-FLEX™ AS starts solidifying below 250 C. Once solidified the material has just to be warmed up to above 250. The solidifying process is 100% reversible.

ULTRA-PLAST™ WF101 contains amide, which has reactive sites available for hydrogen bonding and can therefore act as a coupling agent between polymer and filler. ULTRA-PLAST™ WF101 acts as an efficient blending and dispersing agent in wood filled systems, leading to a more homogeneous blend. ULTRA-PLAST™ WF101 works as an excellent lubricant under high shear conditions, for example injection molding.

ULTRA-LUBET™ 160 is highly effective in improving flow properties of rubber compounds. This effect is based on a reduction of intermolecular friction and external friction against metal surfaces. ULTRA-LUBE™ 160 is outstanding during the compounding stage and after vulcanization as a mold release. Besides, it is highly effective as an internal release agent in preventing rubber compounds sticking to open mill rolls as well as to rotors in internal mixers. ULTRA-LUBE™ 160 has a stabilizing effect on the tendency of re-crystallization in CR compounds.

ULTRA-PLAST™ TP01 contains reactive sites which create hydrogen bonding and can therefore act as coupling agent between polymer and filler. It acts as an efficient blending and dispersing agent in highly filled plastics compounds, leading to a more homogeneous initial mix. At processing conditions, ULTRA-PLAST™ TPO1 is an effective lubricant for polyolefins like PVC, PS, ABS and several TPO systems. Applications recommended for ULTRA-PLAST™ TPO1 include highly filled TPE and TPO compounds, filled olefins, flame retarded systems and color concentrates. In addition, it can be used in unfilled elastomers where reduced viscosity and improved flow under processing conditions are desired. In many cases, better surface appearance and more uniform mold shrinkage can be observed.
