Today Catexel Nease continues our commitment to providing quality hydrotropes, but we offer much more than that. As a leader in the production of sulfonated aromatics, Catexel Nease has a broad hydrotrope line which is complemented by an ever expanding capability in specialty products with a basic strength in sulfonation technology. Founded in 1951 as the Pedlow-Nease Company, the name changed to Nease Chemical Company and we began the manufacturing of hydrotropes in 1958. Acquired by Ruetgers AG in 1978 we were renamed to Ruetgers-Nease, but reorganized and became Ruetgers Organics Corporation in 1997. Two years later in 1999 our Marketing and R&amp;D functions relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio so we could better serve customers.</p>

Naxonate® hydrotropes are a proven answer to solubility problems in a wide variety of commercial applications. Optimum hydrotrope selection can result in enhanced system performance. Naxonate® hydrotrope products generate essentially no foam and no wetting action and have minimal influence on surface tension. What they off is a cost-effective way to solubilize complex formulas, elevate cloud points and control viscosity.

Naxcat® aromatic sulfonic acids are made by sulfonating aromatic compounds with sulfuric acid, so3 , or oleum. They are comparable in strength to mineral acids such as sulfuric acid, but are especially suitable for organic reactions where an inorganic, mineral acid could cause charring, oxidation, or an unwanted chemical reaction.

Naxcat

The Naxan® anionic surfactants are a series of sodium salts of alkyl naphthalene sulfonic acid. These products provide excellent wetting, dispersing, hydrotroping and medium to low foaming. They offer acid and base stability, hard-water tolerance and high temperature stability. The naxaf® naphthalene sulfonate–formaldehyde condensates are used primarily as dispersants in a wide variety of industrial applications.

Naxan

Naxsoft® products include alkyl aryl sulfonates and olefin sulfonates. These products are basic in numerous household, industrial and institutional formulations and function as emulsifiers, wetting agents, detergents and dispersants.

Naxsoft

Naxonac® products include anionic surfactants, one of the main advantages of phosphate esters is their stability and solubility in alkali systems. They can be used as hydrotropes to couple nonionic surfactants systems which are not soluble and at the same time increase wetting and detergency properties. The presence of the phosphate group imparts some interactions with metallic surfaces, thereby exhibiting some anti-corrosion and metal-adhesion characteristics. They can be used as additives in oil and water-soluble lubricant systems to improve lubricity, anti-frictional properties of the formula. Phosphate esters also find use as emulsifiers in emulsion polymerization.

Peractive™ AC White is a multifunctional ingredient consisting of tetraacetylethylenediamine (TAED), which efficiently and economically fulfills a number of tasks in the washing process. Its many functions include a worldwide bleaching system, improved pre-soak formulations with the use of Peractive R, good water solubility, the elimination of unpleasant odors, and dye transfer inhibition.

Naxsoft® NA-8 is an aqueous solution of a primary alkane sulfonate which exhibits low foaming, excellent coupling properties, and is biodegradable. It has excellent hydrotrope and wetting properties in both high and low pH systems, is soluble in both highly acidic and basic formulations, and is compatible with bleach. Naxsoft® NA-8 is listed on the Cleangredients Chemical listing and meets DfE criteria.

WeylClean® SAS 30 is a secondary alkane sulfonate sodium salt (paraffin sulfonate), which is used in all types of liquid washes and cleaning agents, especially suited for highly concentrated products. It functions as an anionic, biodegradable surfactant for the detergent, chemical-technical, and cosmetic industries.

Naxonate® 4LS is our standard sodium xylene sulfonate, exhibiting reduced sulfone levels, which can be imperative for achieving clarity in formulated systems, especially upon dilution. The lower sulfone content helps the formulator consistently meet customer needs, and the product is listed on the Cleangredients Chemical listing and meets DfE criteria.

Naxsoft® 98S is a versatile, economical, and highly active linear acid that is biodegradable and can be used as a component in acidic products such as aluminum cleaners and liquid bowl cleaners. It can also be neutralized with a variety of inorganic bases or organic amines to customize the sulfonate for the end product. It is listed on the Cleangredients Chemical listing and meets DfE criteria.

Naxan® DIA

Naxan® 110 has excellent wetting and hydrotroping properties with moderate foaming, making it suitable as a condensate for use primarily as dispersants in a wide variety of industrial applications. It falls between Naxan® ABL and Naxan® 220 in terms of foaming and wetting capabilities.

Naxan® 110

Naxan® DIL is a unique product in our offering, being the lightest in color and having a low odor, very fast wetting, and good hydrotropic properties. It is also the most hydrophobic product in our line, which is an advantage in formulations requiring "rinse off" functionality, as well as allowing for better color management in the end product when low color is essential.

Naxan® PLUS AAL exhibits good wetting, hydrotroping, and moderate foam and has a darker color than Naxan® PLUS ABL. It is designed for industrial applications where color is not crucial to the end product. This series now meets the requirements of OECD Test Method 301B and is classified as "ultimately biodegradable" as well as non-toxic to aquatic life, making it possible to formulate biodegradable products based on the Naxan® PLUS series of surface-active hydrotropes. Additionally, the Naxan® PLUS series is listed on the Cleangredients Chemical listing and meets DfE criteria.

Naxan® PLUS AAL

Naxan® PLUS 220 has been designed to reduce foam when used in various applications, such as rinse aids and automatic machine washing. It meets the requirements of OECD Test Method 301B and is classified as "Ultimately Biodegradable," which is important for the protection of aquatic wildlife. It also meets the criteria of the Cleangredients Chemical Listing and the DfE, allowing the formulation of biodegradable products based on the Naxan® PLUS series of surface-active hydrotropes, while exhibiting fast wetting and good hydrotroping properties.

Naxan® PLUS 220

Naxan® PLUS ABL exhibits good wetting, hydrotroping, and moderate foam, making it beneficial in many household and institutional product applications. It is designed to be low in color, allowing for better color management in the end product. Additionally, this series now meets the requirements of OECD Test Method 301B and is classified as "Ultimately Biodegradable," making it suitable for the formulation of biodegradable products. It is also listed on the Cleangredients Chemical listing and meets DfE criteria.

Naxan® PLUS ABL

Naxan® PLUS AAP is a dried version of Naxan® PLUS AAL that exhibits good wetting, hydrotroping, and moderate foam. It is darker in color than Naxan® ABP and is designed for use in industrial applications where color is not crucial to the end product. Furthermore, this series now meets the requirements of OECD Test Method 301B and is classified as "ultimately biodegradable,", which is important for the protection of aquatic wildlife. This improvement allows the formulation of biodegradable products based on the Naxan® PLUS series of surface-active hydrotropes and is listed on the Cleangredients Chemical listing, meeting DfE criteria.

Naxan® PLUS BFL is a unique product in our ANS product line that is the fastest wetter with good hydrotroping abilities and is designed to generate foam for applications such as carpet shampoos, liquid car washes, hand dishwashes, etc. where foam enhances the performance of the product. It meets the requirements of OECD Test Method 301B and is classified as "Ultimately Biodegradable", allowing for the formulation of biodegradable products based on the Naxan® PLUS series. This series is also listed on the Cleangredients Chemical Listing and meets DfE criteria.

Naxan® PLUS UFL exhibits very fast wetting and is designed to foam the least compared to any other product in the ANS line. It is essential for specialized cleaners, such as industrial bottle wash, as foam can be a deterrent to the process. This series meets the requirements of OECD Test Method 301B and is classified as "Ultimately Biodegradable", making it suitable for the formulation of biodegradable products. It is listed on the Cleangredients Chemical listing and meets DfE criteria.
