Koster Keunen knows that formulators need an option other than candelilla wax due to the issues and shortages in that market. We have developed this alternative to mimic the major and minor components of candelilla in cost effective way. Candelilla Wax Alternative can be used in any formula looking to replace candelilla wax. Uses include color cosmetics, hair and skin care. There is compatibility with all types of systems including anhydrous formulas, lip sticks, balms, pomades, emulsions and sunscreens.

Behenyl Alcohol S75 is a white, waxy solid that functions as a thickener, binding agent, solubilizer and gellant for low viscosity fluids. This behenyl alcohol contains a small amount of fatty alcohols for unique properties while formulating.

Many times pure beeswax can be substituted in formulations with our Synthetic Beeswax RSB. This Synthetic Beeswax is a match of the physical and chemical properties of the natural product. This is achieved by blending a mixture of fatty acid esters, fatty acids and alcohols from a non-animal raw material source, so as to very closely meet the chemical composition of natural beeswax.

Kostol IBT is an emulsifying wax based on quaternary ammonium salt. This emulsifier produces thick and creamy emulsions that feel light and hydrating on the skin with 3-5% only usage levels. By putting this emulsifier in salt form it will dissolve in water, and because it is cationic it is attracted to the hair – making it the perfect ingredient for shampoos and conditioners, as well as a host of other personal care products.

SynKos™ 2060 Wax is comprised of white, synthetic waxes with unique gelling and texturizing capabilities. SynKos waxes are synthetic polymers that are highly compatible, cost effective waxes that can also replace petrochemical waxes, petrolatum and polyethylene.

Kostol IBT-50 is a highly concentrated cationic emulsifying wax. Kostol IBT-50 works at low usage levels producing ideal hair conditioning properties. Our Kostol IBT-50 has been deodorized to have a very low odor which will reduce a formulations requirement for high loading of fragrances. Candelilla is a vegetable wax found in great quantities in North-western Mexico and Southern Texas. Candelilla is extracted from the shrub Euphorbia Cerifera by boiling the shrub, and skimming off the resultant wax. The raw material comes to Koster Keunen in lump form and is refined to a light yellow color. We offer a variety of grades of Candelilla to fit any application.

Bee's Milk is a natural dispersion of Beeswax in water. Bee's Milk makes it possible to 'Cold Formulate'. A formulator is able to get the benefits of Beeswax in a formulation without having to heat that phase of the formula. The lipid composition in Bee's Milk closely, mimics the natural lipid composition of the skin, thus copying the skin's own natural secretions, making Bee's Milk natures emollient. Bee's Milk is stabilized, and is compatible with surfactants and other compounds of high ionic strength.
