Avocado Oil is obtained from the ripe fruits of the avocado tree (Persea americana Mill), which belongs to the laurel family (Lauraceae) and can grow up to 20 meters in height. The fruit has a fat content ranging between 15 and 30 percent. Avocados mainly grow in tropical and subtropical climate regions.

Safflower Oil is obtained from the seeds of the safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.), which belongs to the aster or sunflower family (Asteraceae). The seeds have an oil content of approximately 30 percent. Originally widespread across an area ranging from Egypt and the Middle East to Central Europe, today the safflower is mainly cultivated in the United States, Central America, Argentina and Australia.

Rose Hip Oil is obtained from the seeds of rose hips, which grow exclusively on wild rose bushes (Rosa canina L., Rosa rubiginosa and Rosa moschata) as so-called ovaries. Rose hips are harvested during dry weather when the fruit begin to ripen and take on their typical red color. The plant is native to Europe, but is cultivated in the temperate zones of America, Asia and Africa.

Jojoba Oil is obtained from the seeds of the jojoba shrub (Simmondsia chinensis). The jojoba shrub belongs to the Simmondsiaceae family. The seeds have a high oil content of roughly 50 percent. From a chemical standpoint, it is a liquid wax. The plant is native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It is also grown outside of its region of origin, in Israel, Argentina and Peru.

Chlorella (Chlorella sp.) is a spherical green alga that mainly thrives in freshwater. It is found in bodies of water all over the world and is well suited for commercial cultivation. Chlorella is primarily obtained from controlled aquaculture.

Spirulina (Spirulina platensis) is a genus of cyanobacteria, also known as blue-green algae, which is capable of performing photosynthesis. It is naturally found in Central America, South East Asia, Africa and Australia in flat, subtropical waters with a high salt content. The alga is primarily obtained from controlled aquaculture.

Sesame Oil is obtained from the seeds of the sesame plant (Sesamum indicum L.). The seeds have a fatty oil content of around 48 percent. The sesame plant is one of the oldest known oil plants and has been cultivated for thousands of years. Although native to tropical Africa, today sesame is mainly grown in Central America, Central Africa and India.

Bees Wax (Cera flava; Cera alba) is produced by honey bees (Apis mellifera) using their way glands. Bees use wax to construct their hives. Bees Wax has a fatty acid ester content of 35 to 70 percent. Honey bees are found all over the world.

MCT Oil (medium-chain triglycerides) is the term for a blend of naturally derived medium-chain fatty acids. Palmkernel Oil or Coconut Oil is the raw ingredient used in production. The oil palm is native to Africa, but is now mainly grown in Indonesia and Malaysia. The coconut palm originally grew in tropical regions and is now mainly grown throughout the tropics.

Black Cumin Oil is obtained from the ripe seeds of the black cumin plant (Nigella sativa L.), which belongs to the crowfoot or buttercup family (Ranunculaceae). Its ripe seeds have a fatty oil content ranging between 30 and 35 percent and an essential oil content of up to 2 percent. Although originally native to Egypt, black cumin is now mainly cultivated in Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan and India.

Sesame Oil is obtained from the seeds of the sesame plant (Sesamum indicum L.). The seeds have a fatty oil content of around 48 percent. The sesame plant is one of the oldest known oil plants and has been cultivated for thousands of years. Although native to tropical Africa, today sesame is mainly grown in Central America, Central Africa and India.

Borageseed Oil is obtained from the seeds of the borage plant (Borago officinalis). Borage is an annual plant and belongs to the Boraginaceae family. The seeds contain around 30 percent oil. Borage was originally native to the Mediterranean, but is now found in both cultivated and wild form in Canada, Eastern Europe, the UK, New Zealand and China.

Hemp Oil is obtained from hemp (Cannabis sativa) seeds. The plant is extremely resilient and adaptive, but needs a lot of water to grow. The seeds have an oil content ranging between 26 and 35 percent. Today, hemp is mainly grown in Asia, America and Europe.

St. John`s Wort Oil is an oil maceration that is made from the fresh blossoms of spotted St. John`s Wort (Hypericum perforatum L.) and a carrier oil. The plant was originally native to Europe, western Asia and northern Africa, and now grows around the world.

Shea Butter is extracted from the nut kernels of the shea tree (Butyrospermum parkii), which contain 45 to 48 percent fat. Botanically, we distinguish between two subspecies: an East African and a West African variety. The latter can be found from West Africa to the Upper Nile region. Shea Butter is mainly produced in Mali, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Ghana, The Gambia, Nigeria and Benin. Shea Butter Nilotica – in Swahili referred to as "muyao" – is the East African variant. It is mainly cultivated in Uganda, Sudan and Kenia.

Squalene naturally occurs in the unsaponifiable matter in Olive Oil and some other vegetable oils, as well as in the skin’s lipid barrier and in blood serum. It is also available from maritime sources. Production and distribution are strictly separated. Squalene is further processed to produce Squalane. Squalane is a clear, odorless and colorless liquid, which is produced from hydrogenation of the natural substance Squalene. Squalene is sensitive to oxidation due to its double compounds, but becomes resistant to oxidation and heat when it is hydrogenated.

Evening Primrose Oil is obtained from the seeds of the evening primrose (Oenthera biennis L.). The evening primrose is a biennial, herbal plant with a large inflorescence. Its seeds have a fatty oil content of around 40 to 50 percent. Originally native to the north-western United States, today the Evening Primrose is found in Europe, throughout North America as well as the Middle East and East Asia.

Mango Butter is obtained from the seeds of the mango (Mangifera indica). The evergreen mango tree belongs to the sumac family (Anacardiaceae) and generally grows up to 15 meters high. The kernels have a fatty oil content ranging between approximately 9 and 13 percent. Originally native to India, today's growing areas include India, Pakistan, Burma and the Philippines.

Linseed Oil is obtained from the mature seeds of the flax plant, which belongs to the Linaceae family.
