Ximenia called Ximenia americana, belongs to the family Oleacaceae. The fruit was traditionally used because of its high concentration of vitamin C and bark to treat toothache, mouth infections and stomach upset The oil extracted from seeds is mainly used as an emollient, hair oil, conditioner and skin softener, in the manufacture of soap, and as a component of lipsticks and lubricants. 1 With very stable properties, this oil is not well known in cosmetics and deserves to be highlighted.

The Jojoba tree belongs to the family of the Simmondsiaceae, and ranges from 0.5-6m (but usually 2-2.5m) in height with a tap root that is able to penetrate 15-25m below the soil surface. It normally flowers in spring after the autumn/winter rains. The fruit is a capsule containing one to three dark brown seeds. They ripen during the spring and early summer and seeds fall to the ground in late summer.

Cocos Nucifera Oil is derived from the Coconut tree (Cocos nucifera). The Coconut tree belongs to the family of the Arecaceae, and reaches a height of around 12-15m. A tall coconut palm tree can yield up to 75 fruits per year, but more often yields less than 30 mainly due to poor cultural practices. A coconut fruit is actually a one-seeded drupe. On the outside is the husk, which is initially green but turns brown after being picked and dried. The first process in the virgin organic coconut oil production is the production of coconut milk. This process consists of grinding and pressing of coconut meat. The yielding milk is rich in fat that represents up to 40% content by weight.

Kalahari Melon called Citrullus lanatus, belongs to the Cucurbitaceae family. It’s a creeping plant from rich light soil. Since a long time, the seeds were consumed by humans as snacks because of their high Protein Content. 3 This oil is already known in the manufacture of soaps, detergents paints, varnishes and a variety of other industrial items, but not in cosmetic.

COSM'OIL® KC is a Pongamia Glabra Organic Virgin Seed Powder combined with Pongamia Bio Glabra Seed Oil. It is obtained from the grinding of seeds (Pongamia Glabra), in combination with Karanja oil. This is a light gray-green paste, with a typical Karanja smell.

Cosm’Oil ® Eruca called Eruca sativa, belongs to the Brassicaceae family. Plant is a green salad that has leaves similar in taste and appearance to the radish. Watercress seed oil have a lot of fatty acids, particularly rich in Erucic acid, which its part is more than 50% of the total free fatty acid content (as in mustard seed oil).

Cosm'Oil® NOOG called Guizotia abyssinica, belongs to the Asteraceae family. This oil is not commonly used in cosmetic formulation, and must have a real good potential because of its antioxidant activity. Besides edibles uses, the seed oil can be employed in the manufacture of soaps, paints, lubricants or fuels.

COSM'OIL® FORAHA is a vegetable oil obtained from the pressing of this Malagasy calophyllum Inophyllum almonds by local communities. It grows naturally in Madagascar for centuries and is known for its medicinal properties. The FORAHA tree can reach 20 m high and 2 m in diameter. The fruit is a drupe similar to a walnut, about 2 to 4 cm, green. In general, the flesh is firm and not very juicy. The single seed is brown and protected by a spongy layer. Calophyllum Inophyllum is a tree that develops into xerophyte environments. Found on the coasts of tropical Africa, Asia and Polynesian islands. The FORAHA oil produced in Madagascar is interesting because of its differentiation. Nevertheless, it is found in other countries such as Tahiti, Thailand.

COSM’OIL® KR* is a refined oil of Pongamia Glabra seeds. It is made by crushing and pressing of the seeds, followed by a refining. The oil’s color is hazel with a light vegetable oil smell.

COSM’OIL® KD-T60 Dispersion of titanium dioxide in deodorized Pongamia Glabra seed oil

The Aguaje also know as Buriti, is a palm tree, from Arecaceae family. It produces an elliptic drupe shaped fruit from December to April, with 4-5cm of diameter. It is reddish and has a scaly texture. Traditionally, Alguaje Palm Fruit are consumed in juices and ice creams because there are high in Vitamin C. By squeezing the flesh of the seeds of the fruit, you get Buriti Oil. Buriti oil is an orange-reddish oil extracted from the fruit. The oil contains high concentrations of oleic acid, tocopherol and carotenoids, especially Beta-carotene.

Inca Inchi, called lukenetia volubilis, belongs to the family Euphorbiaceae3. It is a climber of the tropical rainforest, with characteristic fruit, starry shape. This oil is already known, but it is not also used in cosmetic formulation.
