Cogesome® SA (R10126) is a novel and proprietary liposome formulation that encapsulates salicylic acid (SA) for improved long-term stability and pH to near physiological levels, optimal miscibility in aqueous and glycolic systems, and superior penetration into the skin. Cogesome® SA is well suited for formulas to address blemished skin, including spot treatments, cleansing, and clarifying products, and overnight resurfacing treatments, as well as other skin and hair formulas.Cogesome® SA supports superior skin penetration properties without the irritation associated with traditional salicylic acid. Cogesome® SA is stable and soluble in water for easy formulation in aqueous-based formulation systems. Cogesome® SA is a completely liposome-encapsulated salicylic acid with high miscibility and a pH of 6-7.4, close to physiological pH. As such, the incorporation of salicylic acid by Cogesome® SA does not significantly impact the pH of the final formulation. Cogesome® SA is a high-technology solution for blemish-prone skin.

Compatibility and Formulation
Cogesome® SA is compatible with most conventional ingredients used in skincare products. It is miscible in aqueous and glycolic systems. Add in the last step of formulation when temperature is below 50°C. Mix well before use.

Safety & Health

Safety
Human Repeat Insult Patch Testing (HRIPT) under semi-occlusive conditions indicated that Cogesome® SA, when tested neat, is not a primary skin irritant or a primary skin sensitizer. Ocular irritancy testing predicted that Cogesome® SA would be a Minimal ocular irritant when tested neat and at recommended use levels.
