Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) - also known as ubiquinone or ubidecarenone - is an essential endogenously produced cofactor for the electron transport chain in the mitochondria, and it also serves as a powerful antioxidant in cells. It is the only lipid-soluble antioxidant that can be synthesized by cells, and it plays an important role in sustaining cellular bioenergetics, thereby promoting activities such as sports, healthy aging, heart and cardiovascular health, brain health and many other activities that involve energy expenditure.
