The primer can be applied directly to the substrate or diluted if desired. As the solvent evaporates and when exposed to ambient humidity, the primer forms a rigid film that firmly adheres to the substrate. By applying a silicone rubber onto the primed substrate and subsequently vulcanizing it, a strong bond is achieved between the silicone rubber and the substrate.

PEXIDAN® V/T-2UV is a low density flame retardant XLPE system, curable by moisture and consists of a silane grafted base compound A-3001 and a catalyst masterbatch CAT-083FR-UV. Mixed and extruded in the proper proportions (50/50), the two components result in a material that is curable by exposure to hot water. PEXIDAN® V/T-2UV is halogenated but is RoHS-compliant. Insulation made with this system may be marked SUNRES or ‘SR’ in all colors and in all sizes per UL44, UL4703 and CSA C22.2 #38. USI Chemical Silane USi-1302 functions as a surface modifier in fillers and pigments, where it improves the dispersibility of the filler and the mechanical properties such as flexural strength, tensile strength and modulus of the composites. The silane also has its application as an adhesion promoter in formulations and primers & reduces the filler's sedimentation tendency in the uncured polymer. Silane USi-1302 also greatly increases water (vapor) and corrosion resistance.

Improves thermal stability of other silanes, used with other silane and siloxane intermediates and can be used for hydrophobic surface treatment. Silanes are used in a variety of industrial applications. Organofunctional Silanes have an organic functional end group and an alkoxy functional end group which allow the silane to act as a bridge between organic materials and inorganic substrates. The organic functional group is matched to the resin system while the alkoxy group provides the reactive site for crosslinking.
