Fully cured SILRES® K has a very low carbon content and thus yields a high ash content when pyrolized. Composites made of SILRES® K show long-term stability against weathering, moisture, and UV light. They can therefore be continuously exposed to constantly changing climatic conditions, UV radiation, and temperatures significantly higher than 300 °C (572 °F).
