The extensive use of petroleum-derived polymers is responsible for the increasing concern about the environmental impact of plastics, since most of them are not biodegradable. Worldwide polymer production is estimated to increase: it is considered that in 2020 each person will consume around 40 kg of plastic annually. In this scenario, bioplastics emerge as an alternative to conventional plastics and among biopolymers VIBATAN® PLA BLACK N0381) is currently considered one of the most promising biopolyester at industrial scale, due to its good balance between physicochemical properties and sustainability.

VIBATAN® PE MULTIFUNCTIONAL GREY G6771 contributes to enhance processability during extrusion and the properties in the final product. Multifunctional GREY G6771 offers many advantages, such as a valid anti-collapse action, by avoiding the collapse of foam and reducing the quantity of used gas, as it can keep gas inside the foamed product. Its improved nucleating action will be displayed in the presence of a regular closed-cell foam structure, while the particular pigment in use improves heat exchange, thus considerably increasing the insulating effect. The final color of end products will be anthracite.

VIBATAN® PE BACTERIOSTATIC 51A0150 has been expressly developed for the extrusion of mono and multilayer films, even having thin thickness, and above all for the production of medical disposable gloves in PE (in places like hospitals the presence of organic bacteriostatic additives is not always well accepted). The product is suitable also for polyolefine injection molding.

For the production of agricultural protective nets VIBA can offer its VIBATAN® HDPE UV MASTER 04773 an innovative masterbatch which contains a tertiary polymeric HALS in combination with a UV synergic stabilizer and with antioxidant agents, all on a high density polyethylene carrier. The product has been developed for the extrusion of high density polyethylene monofilament its estimated life span is of about 10 years with a resistance of 1000 ppm of Sulfur, 60 ppm of Chlorine and 45 ppm of Iron. Its special HALS performs a very good stability to heat and light, not only during processing, but also for all the life cycle of the end product. It is also more resistant to aggressive agents and is therefore suitable for exposure in extreme conditions.
