Naturality
Avogelia® NF is a product of entirely plant origin, that contains no ethoxylated compounds (PEG-free) or petroleum derivatives. It is made up of a high percentage of avocado oil, lipoaminoacids and lipoproteins deriving from coconut oil, oat proteins and rice amino acids.
Avocado Oil
Avocado oil is extracted from the fruit of the Persea gratissima (Lauraceae) by cold pressing and it has been used for centuries in the tropical countries of its origin both as a food product and as a protective agent for the skin.
Its particular fatty acids composition and its rich unsaponifiable fraction are the reason for its widespread use as a functional cosmetic ingredient. By integrating perfectly with the horny layer of the epithelium, Avocado oil fatty acids maintain or restore the structural balance of the hydrolipidic film, reducing transepidermal water loss (TEWL).
The functional substances contained in the unsaponifiable fraction of avocado oil (vitamins A, E, squalene, carotenoids, phytosterols, terpenic alcohols, avocatin) protect the skin against harmful agents such as UV radiation and free radicals, promote the synthesis of collagen, activating the metabolism of fibroblasts and inhibiting the enzymes responsible for its degradation (collagenase).
The effective stimulation of the skin renewal process, the increased hydration and elasticity of the skin justify the widespread use of Avocado oil in cosmetic products such as suntan and anti-aging products for mature, devitalized and dehydrated skin.
Dermocompatible sensoriality
The biomimetic structure of the emulsifier and the vegetal lipid content provide the products with special sensorial features, ensuring such a high skin tolerability that may suggest the use of Avogelia® NF in formulations for extremely sensitive skin.

Technical Details & Test Data
- Formulating with Avogelia® NF
Avogelia® NF is a semiviscous gel able to form emulsions with a fine microstructure and fast absorbing features. It is compatible with several rheological modifiers, coemulsifiers and several classes of lipids, such as triglycerides of plant origin, esters, hydrocarbons and silicones (Figure 1).
All of the emulsions have decidedly pleasant organoleptic characteristics and show no significant differences in terms of pH and viscosity (Figures 2, 3).
Rheology modifiers and/ or coemulsifiers can be also added to regulate the viscosity ranging from very fluid to viscous (Figure 4).
All formulas, including those with a high oil content, were found to have a soft, silky and non-greasy texture.Figure 1 : Wide compatibility of Avogelia® NF with different kinds of lipids.
