Nylon resin is a typical engineering plastic that features superior toughness, heat-resistance, and oil-resistance. Used chiefly in automobile parts, connectors and other electronics components, and mechanical parts, AMILAN™ also finds application in packaging and construction materials. More recently, AMILAN™ has come to be used in more familiar applications such as office chairs and bicycle wheels.

The wide range of Toray MicroPly™ film adhesives are compatible with our prepregs. Film adhesives are used for bonding of honeycomb core to skin, or to bond pre-cured or post-cured laminates. Toray MicroPly™ syntactics are epoxy films loaded with glass microspheres for low-density and high-compressive strengths. The Toray MicroPly™ range of syntactic films are ideal for sandwich core construction, edge close outs, core splices, and reinforcement areas.

TOYOLAC™ ABS resin has an attractive appearance, well-balanced physical properties, and excellent moldability. It is used in a wide range of applications, from office equipment such as photocopiers to interior and exterior automobile components, household electrical goods, and miscellaneous consumer products.

From PP, PA6, and PMMA all the way to PEI, PEEK, and engineered PAEK, we tailor the polymer to meet the demands of your application. Toray Cetex® thermoplastic materials are available as a broad variety of fabric-based laminates (RTLs), prepregs, and UD tapes to facilitate your manufacturing process and part design.

Ecodear® is a brand of materials and products made from biomass-based polymers. 　Toray is expanding its use of plant-based synthetic fibers, such as PET, PTT, N610, and PLA, on a global scale. Ecodear® PET is a plant-based polyester fiber created through polymerization and melt spinning of plant-derived ethylene glycol, extracted from sugarcane (saccharum officinarum) molasses, and petrolium-derived terephthalic acid. It conforms with Green Public Procurement (green purchasing) standards for plant-based synthetic fibers, as well as being an ISO14024 type 1 environmental label (ecomark) certified product. With its biodegradable qualities, Ecodear® PLA is seeing wide use in a range of everyday, engineering and agricultural applications, and has also been adopted in desert greening.

The Toray AmberTool® series of epoxy tooling prepregs have become the trusted benchmark products across the composites industry for over 20 years. They have an excellent reputation for reliability and deliver a cosmetic surface finish. Toray AmberTool® tooling prepregs cure at low temperatures to allow the production of high-quality composite tooling from low-cost master patterns. Users can easily fabricate complex tool shapes. Toray AmberTool® tooling prepregs have excellent tack, drape, and handling characteristics. Toray prepregs are available in a range of reinforcements, although glass and carbon are most common. If required, we can also offer these in roll form or precut kits, without any impact on product out life, and multi-ply formats to reduce layup time and improve tool build efficiencies. TORAYPEF™ is a radiation-cross-linked, semirigid, closed-cell, long sheet foam. Its lightweight, heat-insulating, shock-absorbing, highly moldable, and nonwater- absorbency properties make it ideal for a wide range of applications: automobile interior components, insulation materials for construction uses, all kinds of pipe insulation and anti-condensation materials, miscellaneous industrial materials, consumer goods, and healthcare and sports products.

Toray's carbon fiber TORAYCA® is used in various applications where its light weight and strength are exploited. The specific applications include sporting equipment requiring light weight, ease of use and high performance, aerospace materials that must be light and functional enough for use in air/space travel, and various general industrial applications such as pressure containers, cars, windmills, ships and civil engineering/construction. These applications continue to grow and expand with the progress of carbon fiber and carbon fiber forming technology.

Nomex® honeycomb core is manufactured from Nomex® paper sheets and is coated and bonded together with a phenolic resin. Designed to offer users and designers high strength-to-weight properties at relatively low cost, Nomex® honeycomb is particularly suitable as a core material for production of sandwich structures requiring significant FST performance and using high performance fiber reinforced composites as the facing material.
