Octopol PTB is a synergistic extreme pressure composition found to give superior anti-wear and antioxidant features contributed to the oil by the particular borate dispersion. Octopol PTB has fluid or semi-fluid consistencies that are desirable for open gears and bearings. This extreme pressure additive has usages in gear sets found in gas compressors, high-pressure hydraulic systems, automotive transmission differentials, and other types or bearings where high-load conditions are prevalent. To avoid the undesirable effects of uncompounded oil under high-load conditions, borates are widely used EP and anti-wear additives. By building a resilient film caused by inorganic borate spheres interacting with metal load-bearing surfaces, this borate dispersion is able to provide outstanding wear protection and load-carrying capacity. The lubricant becomes very stable due to the small size and low density of the dispersed borate.

Octopol AD is an extreme pressure anti-wear additive, corrosion inhibitor, and antioxidant. Typical uses for Octopol AD are in almost all types of industrial and automotive gear oils, bearing greases, and synthetic lubes. The superior extreme pressure performance gained from Octopol AD makes it our most popular additive. The antioxidant and anti-wear properties also give extended life and improved color even under the harshest conditions. Typical use levels are 1.0 – 10 + percent by weight in lubricating greases and industrial gear oils.

Octopol AZ-S is a synergistic blend of two extreme pressure additives: zinc diamyldithiocarbamate and sulfurized hydrocarbon. Zinc and sulfur provide a boundary lubrication and sacrificial wear combination protecting parts under the toughest EP conditions. The dithiocarbamate also acts as a corrosion inhibitor and an antioxidant further protecting the lubricating oil. Uses include industrial and automotive gear oils, gear and bearing greases, and some synthetic lubes. Zinc is one of the most widely accepted heavy metals for EP applications.

Octopol bis DMTD is used as an extreme pressure-anti-wear additive, anti-corrosion agent, and antioxidant for greases. Uses include greases, heavy equipment lubrication and an additive to be used in steel mills. The product has excellent extreme pressure properties when used in various greases and it should be used when extreme pressures are predominate. Typical use levels are 1.0 – 2.0 %. Octopol bis DMTD offers additional synergistic performance in combination with Octopol AD and Octopol MB in mining greases.

Octopol TMQ is primarily used as a corrosion inhibitor and is an excellent rust inhibitor. Some typical uses for Octopol TMQ are in compressor/engine/gear oils, greases, and petroleum lubes. It is an additive compatible with greases, industrial and automotive gear oils oils. Typical use levels are .25– 1.0 percent by weight in lubricating greases and industrial gear oil.

Octopol SIB is a high sulfur-containing hydrocarbon useful as an EP agent, film strength improver and mild oxidation inhibitor in the preparation of industrial gear oils, cutting oils, and metalworking applications and greases. The Octopol SIB demonstrates good solubility in mineral oils as well as great thermal stability. It is generally used with other components to produce additives and fluids for gear or metal-working applications. The recommended, typical treating range is 0.50 – 10 % depending on the application; however, it is suggested that lab testing information be used for acceptable performance levels

Octopol PAO 100 is a custom-blended polyalphaolefin (PAO) synthetic hydrocarbon fluid giving improved lubrication at high and low temperatures, reduced volatility, good chemical inertness and hydrolytic stability, and compatibility with mineral oils and equipment designed for use with mineral oils.Octopol PAO-100 is useful where high viscosity, excellent viscosity index, and shear stability are required. This fluid has been used in a wide variety of applications such as seals, refrigeration, heat transfer fluids, and as a thickener for mineral oils and other synthetics.

Octopol 451 is primarily used as a corrosion inhibitor and is an excellent rust inhibitor. Some typical uses for Octopol 451 are in compressor/engine/gear oils, greases, and petroleum lubes. It is a low ash additive compatible with greases, industrial and automotive gear oils. Octopol 451 is used as an oxidation and corrosion inhibitor in many types of oils. Typical use levels are .25 – 1.0 percent by weight in lubricating greases and industrial gear oil.

Octopol AD-I is a high performance synergistic extreme pressure and antiwear agent. The antimony dithiocarbamate forms a boundary layer while the sulfurized olefin offers itself as sacrificial wear instead of the metal’s surface. The dithiocarbamate acts as an antioxidant and corrosion inhibitor to further protect oil and greases.
