The Structural portfolio is based on a variety of thermoplastic resins in combination with different reinforcements and fillers like glass fiber, glass beads, minerals, and carbon fiber. In addition we can add a variety of modifications for flow, release, impact and flame retardant.
Structural compounds are reinforced compounds, that provide improved dimensional stability over standard unmodified thermoplastics, while mechanical properties like stiffness and strength are enhanced. Also the heat capabilities are improved, together with better long term properties like fatigue and creep. In most cases good surface esthetics can be provided and improving mechanical properties allow customers to reduce the weight of their products by designing thinner wall parts.
