PolyBrite® 93

PolyBrite® 93 is a silicone flashing compound designed for use at various flashing and through roof penetration conditions. When installing polyglass silicone coating systems, use details and where silicone is required to be applied vertically, such as parapet walls. The product will expand and contract with the movement of the roof surface and is resistant to UV degradation.

Application Instruction

Surface Preparation

  • All surfaces to receive coating must be clean, dry and free from any foreign matter such as dirt, oils, grease or other debris that could inhibit the adhesion capabilities of the newly installed products.
  • Metal surfaces that display rusting or other oxidation, to be prepared with a grinder or wire brush as needed to remove surface contaminants.
  • Existing roof systems to be visually inspected for conditions that may adversely affect adhesion of performance of newly installed products. Repair any visible deficiencies such as splitting, blistering, and buckling.
  • Visually inspect all metal and non-metal flashings, edges, drains, valleys and through-roof penetrations and repair as needed by project conditions.

Application

  • Stir product prior to application if needed.
  • Apply by brush, trowel or putty knife.
  • In all cases, an adhesion test is recommended to confirm suitability.
  • Prior to using this product on new cap sheets (smooth or granulated); it is recommended to wait 30 days for weathering.
  • Apply at 1⁄8" thick uniform application.
  • Application in cold weather could result in uneven application and improper curing of product.
  • Apply at all laps, cracks or breaks in the surface extending a minimum of 2 inches on each side

Cleaning

  • Clean hands with waterless hand cleaner.
  • Application tools and equipment can be cleaned with mineral spirits or Naptha.
Application Types
  • Pointed Trowel
  • Putty Knife/Brush
Limitations
  • Do not apply if inclement weather is expected within 24 hours of application.
  • Do not thin product.
  • Not for use where product will be under constant water submersion.
  • Not recommended for silicone structural glazing.
  • Do not apply in confined spaces without proper ventilation.
  • Do not apply at temperatures above 120°F.
  • For cold weather application, store material above 65°F.
