Ready-to-Use Product Features
Features & Benefits
  • Enhanced with a light blue color to ensure areas of application receive proper coverage.
  • Water-Based formula is non-flammable during application, compliant with VOC requirements and easily cleans up with water prior to curing.
Benefits
  • Polyglass offers all the product components needed for these systems – one stop shop
  • A variety of systems which can be used on new construction or tear off and replace roofs
  • Offers excellent resistance to extended exposure to solar ultraviolet energy
  • Can decrease the roof surface temperature, thereby reducing energy costs
  • Superior tensile strength for a strong roof
  • Easy to install, no kettle, no torch and no special tools or equipment needed other than a heavy roller
  • Much safer than traditional hot asphalt BUR or torch down systems
  • Should reduce the cost of insurance for the roofing contractor
  • Low VOC and odor - presents minimal hazard to the applicator or the environment
  • Resistant to dirt pick-up – easy to maintain
  • Fungal and algal resistant

Applications & Uses

Uses
  • Recommended for use on various uncoated metal components that exhibit oxidation or “rusting”. Designed to prevent further exposure to environmental conditions that cause oxidation of the metal, commonly known as rust.
  • Promotes adhesion of elastomeric coating applied to uncoated metal surface that exhibit signs of oxidation. Contact Polyglass Technical Services for clarification of unusual surfaces or project conditions.
Application Instruction

Surface Preparation

  • All surfaces to receive coating must be clean, dry and free from any foreign matter such as dirt, oils, grease or other debris that could inhibit the adhesion capabilities of the newly installed products.
  • Metal surfaces that display rusting or other oxidation, to be prepared with a grinder or wire brush as needed to remove surface contaminants.
  • Existing roof systems to be visually inspected for conditions that may adversely affect adhesion of performance of newly installed products. Repair any visible deficiencies such as splitting, blistering, and buckling.
  • Visually inspect all metal and non-metal flashings, edges, drains, valleys and through-roof penetrations and repair as needed by project conditions.
  • Do not apply to wet or visibly damp surfaces, or surfaces previously covered with coal tar based products or Kynar® finishes.

Application

  • Stir well prior to application.
  • PolyBrite 74 may be applied by high pressure spray, roller or brush application methods.
  • Apply PolyBrite 74 at 16 wet mils (1 gallon per 100 square feet) per coat minimum.
  • Apply only when temperatures are between 50ºF and 120ºF. Cold weather could result in uneven application and improper curing of product. Do not apply if there is a threat of inclement weather within 3 hours of application.
  • Do not thin product. Do not heat outside of container

Cleaning

  • Clean equipment and overspray with water.
  • Clean hands with waterless hand cleaner.
  • Application tools and equipment can be cleaned with lukewarm water and soap, followed by a rinse of isopropanol, acetone, or Simple Green®. Recirculate through lines and gun until residual coating is removed.
  • Do not use mineral spirits, xylene, toluene, or VMP & naptha solvents.
Application Types
  • Spray
  • Roof Brush
  • Roll
