Uses

PolyBrite 55 is designed to protect and seal new sprayed polyurethane foam (SPF) roof systems and can be used as a base and/or surface coating.

Application Instruction

Surface Preparation

New spray foam surface to receive coating must be clean, dry and free from any foreign matter such as dirt, oils, grease or other debris that could inhibit the adhesion capabilities of the newly installed products.

Application

  • Mix well prior to application.
  • PolyBrite 55 may be applied by high pressure spray, roller or brush application methods.
  • Apply PolyBrite 55 at 24 wet mils (1.5 gallons per 100 square feet) per coat. Typical application conditions require PolyBrite 55 be applied in two coats at 24 wet mils per coat.
  • Allow coating to dry overnight prior to applying second coat.
  • To minimize potential voids or pinholes in coating application, apply second coat perpendicular to the first.
  • Apply only when ambient temperatures are 50°F and rising. Cold weather could result in uneven application and improper curing of product. Do not apply if there is a threat of inclement weather within 24 hours of application.
  • Do not thin product. Do not heat outside of container.
  • Coatings should be applied when ambient and substrate temperatures are 50°F and rising and never applied when temperatures are greater than 120°F. This includes temperatures during nighttime.
  • Coatings should not be applied to roof surfaces that are over 140°F.

Cleaning

  • Clean equipment and overspray with water.
  • Clean hands with waterless hand cleaner.
  • Application tools and equipment can be cleaned with lukewarm water and soap, followed by a rinse of isopropanol, acetone, or Simple Green®. Recirculate through lines and gun until residual coating is removed.
  • Do not use mineral spirits, xylene, toluene, or VMP & naptha solvents.
Application Types
  • Spray
  • Roof Brush
  • Roll
