PCW TPE-S is also known as SEBS or (H)SBC. It is a material based on styrene block copolymer, consisting of rigid end blocks (polystyrene) and a flexible middle block (e.g. ethylene-butylene). There are some other different variations such as SBS, SEPS, or SEEPS, each with different property profiles. A great advantage of TPE-S is the large hardness range from 30 ShA to approx. 60 ShD, plus a very wide range of modification possibilities. PCW PP Fiberglass/Glass beads is with optimum resilience and strength. The increasing substitution of highly technical plastics – e.g. PBT by PP compounds – expands the application range tremendously. By reinforcing the plastic matrix with fiberglass, it is possible to increase rigidity, resilience, strength, and creep resistance in the component and even achieve the mechanical properties of high-class plastics without any problems. If higher rigidity or compression strength is necessary in a material or a tendency to warp must be reduced, glass beads or also a fiberglass/glass bead mix can be used for PP modification. Another advantage of using glass beads is improved surface quality. Therefore the use of glass beads in so-called Class A parts is also possible.
