NOF Metal Coatings Group Company Logo
Geomet® 430 is a black appearance basecoat applied to protect fasteners and various types of metallic parts from corrosion. Geomet 430 is always combined with nof metal coatings group black topcoats (plus or P-series) to provide a very broad range of friction coefficients. This new black-on-black system with geomet 430 will enhance cosmetic appearance even after mechanical damage and automatic sorting.

Features & Benefits

Characteristics and Performance
  • The coefficient of friction can be adjusted to targeted values ranging from 0.06 to 0.20 (ISO 16047) using specialized Plus® topcoats.
  • Excellent assembly and multi-tightening behavior with lubricated topcoats: conform to VW 01129 and 01131.
  • Good chemical resistance with topcoat (VDA 621-412).
  • Performance maintained at elevated temperature (up to 300°C).
  • Electrical conductivity for most application processes.
  • Bimetallic compatibility with aluminum.
  • Paintable coating.
  • Two basecoats with topcoat yield 240 salt spray hours without white rust (ISO 9227/ASTM B117).
  • Two basecoats with topcoat yield 1000 salt spray hours without red rust (ISO 9227/ASTM B117).
  • Two basecoats with topcoat withstood 6 cycles ACT (STD 423 0014).
  • Thin dry-film, non-electrolytic.
  • Water-based chemistry.
  • No hydrogen embrittlement.
  • Passivated zinc flakes in a binder, patented chemistry.
