PURE-COTE® Coating/ Film-Forming Starches PURE-COTE® modified food starches are unique low-viscosity starches that provide excellent film-forming and adhesive properties. They form clear, flexible films that are fast drying and flavor-free. They function as strong binders for seasoning adherence onto snacks and cereals. PURE-COTE® starches can also help to extend the shelf life or bowl life of a cereal or snack product. A smooth, glossy coating that resists cracking and peeling can be applied to confections and baked goods using an aqueous PURE-COTE® starch formulation.

The finished films are water soluble and have excellent sheen. In addition to being suitable for aqueous film coatings, PURE-COTE® starches work well in solutions to adhere particulates or seasonings to cereals, nuts, snacks, bakery items and meat applications. MALTRIN® maltodextrins and corn syrup solids can be added to PURE-COTE® starch solutions to increase the sheen and tackiness and to aid in the rate of drying.
