AFCONA 4047

• AFCONA-4047 is a highly effective polymeric dispersant used to stabilize inorganic and organic pigments, as well as carbon blacks. Steric hindrance provides very good stability performance with all type of pigments. This results in:
  • improved gloss and DOI
  • reduced flooding problems
  • higher color strength
  • lower viscosity
• AFCONA – 4047 is compatible with almost all solvent-based resins, with the exception of some thermoplastic acrylics.
• Due to its excellent pigment stabilizing performance, AFCONA – 4047 is extremely suitable for use in high quality coatings, such as OEM and refinish, can coating, coil coatings, etc. However, it also can be used in epoxy, UPE, polyurethane and other resin systems.
• AFCONA – 4047 may also be used as an effective dispersant for universal pigment concentrates preparation.
• AFCONA – 4047 gives lower milling viscosity compared to AFCONA-4046.

Note: AFCONA – 4047 will become slightly hazy at temperatures below 5° C. This will not influence the performance of the product.

Addition and dosage: Add AFCONA-4047 according to the dosages listed below, which should be calculated based on the weight of pigment in the formula:

• TiO2 : 2 - 3%
• Other inorganic pigments : 2 - 4%
• Organic pigments : 20 - 40%
• Carbon blacks : 20 - 60%

Incorporation: AFCONA-4047 should be incorporated in the mill base before adding the pigments.

AFCONA-4047 should be stored in a cool, dry place. When kept in its original, unopened container, it will keep up to 5 years from the date of manufacture. The expiration date is indicated on the container.
