AFCONA 2722 is an anti-foaming and de-aeration agent for solvent-free systems, such as epoxy and polyurethane. It provides rapid de-aeration and defoaming of solvent-free epoxy, polyurethane, and some UPE systems. The combination of silicone and non-silicone polymers in AFCONA 2722 allows it to act as both an anti-foam and de-aeration agent, with the silicone part of the formulation responsible for de-aeration and the non-silicone part providing anti-foaming and defoaming properties.

  2. Solvent-free or High-build polyurethane systems.

Incorporation
AFCONA-2722 may be incorporated prior to processing. If added subsequently, good distribution must be ensured.
Addition and Dosage
AFCONA-2722 may be added at 0.5 - 1.5% based on total formulation. Under normal conditions, it is sufficient to use 1.0% for solvent-free systems and 0.5% for solvent-based systems, based on total formulation. For extreme cases, a combination of AFCONA - 2722 and AFCONA - 2038 at 1% each will solve most foam problems.
