AFCONA 7201 is recommended for unsaturated polyester, PVC, epoxy, and polyurethane resin systems. It is a moderately strong defoamer, but is not suitable for unpigmented/clear systems, as it may cause in-can haziness. However, this has a negligible effect on final gloss and will not influence other properties of the system.

  • AFCONA-7201 is recommended for unsaturated polyester, PVC, epoxy, and polyurethane resin systems.
  • AFCONA-7201 is a moderately strong defoamer. It is not recommended for unpigmented/clear systems. Adding AFCONA-7201 to the resin may cause in-can haziness. However, this has a negligible effect on final gloss and will not influence other properties of the system.
  • One of AFCONA-7201 main performance properties is its ability to elimitate surface bubbles. It is also highly recommended as an effective deaerator and defoamer in polyurethane and epoxy binders for protective and marine coating applications. It does not contain paraffinic solvents.

Note: AFCONA – 7201 may become slightly hazy at temperatures below 5° C. This will not impact the performance or quality of the product.

Incorporation

AFCONA-7201 can be added in the pre-mix or after mixing. However in epoxy system, AFCONA-7201 is not recommended to be added to the amine part. If added after mixing stage, homogenous mixing should be ensured.
