Dakota Gasification Phenol
Dakota Gasification Company's phenol, also known as carbolic acid, is an aromatic organic compound with the molecular formula C6H5OH. It is a colorless to light pink, deliquescent (absorbs moisture from the air and becomes liquid) crystalline material with a sweet, tarry smell. Dakota Gas purifies its phenol from the gas liquor stream produced during the gasification process. The majority of Dakota Gas' phenol is sold into the phenolic resin market.Dakota Gas' phenol is created from naturally occurring coal in which the process has fewer emissions than synthetically produced phenol.
