Dakota Gasification Dephenolized Cresylic Acid
Chemical Name:
Cresol, o-cresol, m-cresol, p-cresol
CAS Number:
1319-77-3
Chemical Family:
Cresolic Compounds, Aromatics, Phenols, Phenols & Phenolics
Dakota Gasification Company's cresylic acid is a mixture of all three isomers of cresol along with xylenols, ethylphenols, and other ingredients. It is a brownish-colored liquid with a phenol-like medicinal odor. Dakota Gas extracts its cresylic acid from the gas liquor stream produced during the gasification process.Cresylic acid produced through the gasification process creates fewer emissions than when produced from cracked petroleum oils.Cresylic acid from Dakota Gas is used as a distillation feedstock to produce individual creosol isomers.Dephenolized cresylic acid is also used in its raw form to produce wire enamel solvent.Dakota Gas is ISO 9001 certified for cresylic acid as of November 2022.
Dakota Gasification Phenol
Chemical Name:
Phenol
CAS Number:
108-95-2
Functions:
Disinfectant
Chemical Family:
Phenols, Phenols & Phenolics
Synonyms:
Benzenol, Carbolic Acid, Hydroxybenzene, Monohydroxybenzene, Monophenol, Oxybenzene, Phenic Acid, Phenyl Alcohol, Phenyl Hydroxide, Phenylic Acid, Phenylic Alcohol, PhOH
Dakota Gasification Company's phenol, also known as carbolic acid, is an aromatic organic compound with the molecular formula C6H5OH. It is a colorless to light pink, deliquescent (absorbs moisture from the air and becomes liquid) crystalline material with a sweet, tarry smell. Dakota Gas purifies its phenol from the gas liquor stream produced during the gasification process. The majority of Dakota Gas' phenol is sold into the phenolic resin market.Dakota Gas' phenol is created from naturally occurring coal in which the process has fewer emissions than synthetically produced phenol.
Dakota Gasification Tar Oil
Applications:
Refining & Gas Processing, Oil, Gas & Mining
Product Families:
Hydrocarbons, Solvents
Chemical Family:
Hydrocarbons
End Uses:
Blend Stock
Dakota Gasification Company's tar oil is a unique product processed from our gas liquor stream produced during the gasification process and further refined to resemble a residual fuel oil. The product is a dark-brown liquid with a flash point greater than 200 degrees Fahrenheit and an aromatic, musty odor.Dakota Gas tar oil is used as a blend stock into the residual fuel oil market.Tar oil can also be used as a specialty carbon black feedstock.Dakota Gas' tar oil can be considered a premium fuel blend stock due to its low sulfur content, low benzene content, and high flash point.
Dakota Gasification Naphtha
Functions:
Solvent
Chemical Family:
Naphthenics & Naphthalenes, Hydrocarbons
End Uses:
Oil & Gas Applications, Asphalt
Dakota Gasification Company's naphtha is much different from petroleum derived naphtha. It is composed of over 60 percent aromatics and is much closer to a BTX (Benzene, Toluene, Xylene) blend stock. The product is a white to straw colored, mobile, flammable, or combustible liquid with an aromatic odor. The naphtha is extracted from the raw synthesis gas after the gasification process in the rectisol unit.Dakota Gas naphtha is used as a feedstock in refineries where the benzene is extracted for purification. The remainder of the stream is refined and blended into gasoline, diesel, and other high value products.Typical composition of the BTX components in our naphtha is 44 percent benzene, 17 percent toluene, and 3.1 percent xylenes.
