ChemPro is a specialty chemical manufacturer. Since 1997 ChemPro has been a supplier of high-end and taylor made specialty chemicals to select industries. Our manufacturing flexibility, adaptability and product efficiency enable us to formulate performance chemicals adapted to your specific needs. As a leader in tissue paper performance chemicals ChemPro develops, produces and markets a full line of products used in the tissue paper industry:
- Adhesives & Releases specially formulated for protection, production efficiency and increased sheet structure
- Wet end Softeners & Debonders for increased bulkiness
- Silicone Softeners for increased surface smoothness & minimal influence on tensile strength
- Lotions & Balms with advanced caracteristics application in converting
- Cationic & Anionic Promoters
- Advantages
- Softness, both surface smoothness and flexibility is improved in high quality tissue papers.
- The product has a low viscosity and can be sprayed.
- The product has a very high silicone content which improves the surface smoothness of the tissue product.
- There is no water in the product, no drying is required and tensile degradation is minimized.
CP-soft 94 lotion has a low viscosity and does not contain water yet is sprayable. This lotion is especially effective on calendered tissue sheets that have already a high softness level.
High quality lotionized tissue can be difficult to plybond with normally used plybonding wheels. For this kind of situation several solutions can be found: not applying lotion in the plybonding areas, using more aggressive plybonding wheels and higher pressures, plybonding before applying the lotion etc.
Patch testing has been done with tissue treated with the CP-soft 94 lotion giving the tissue producer the right to make a claim that the product has been dermatologically tested, besides claiming Aloe and vitamin E content.
The results of patch testing also depend on the tissue paper properties and other ingredients contents, as well as the lotion application system.
CP-soft 94 can be applied by a coating or a printing process, such as a flexographic or a roto-gravure process.
Spraying can be done using nozzles or for better control, by a rotating disk system such as is supplied by Weko.
For applications where a balance needs to be found between the application rate and the cost of the lotion, diluted versions of CP-soft 94 can be made available.

CP-soft 94 is a special lotion for tissue paper. The product is applied without dilution on a tissue paper web in a tissue converting operation. It is to be sprayed or it can be applied through a coating or printing process. Lotion must be kept at above 33°C CP-soft 94 does not contain water and therefore less tensile degradation will occur in the tissue paper after application. It is designed to impart substantial handfeel improvements to facial tissue in particular at low rates of application. This product improves surface smoothness as well as the flexibility of the web. Application rates in the order of 2% by weight are typical.
CP-soft 94 contains Aloe and vitamin E, two of the most recognized cosmetic ingredients. The product imparts no or little odor change to the tissue.
On request CP-soft 94 can be formulated with other ingredients, such as essential oils or fragrances, as required.
