ChemPro 652 Softening Debonder

• Significant hand-feel improvements can be obtained in the finished tissue product.
• The release effect is superior to that of the CP Debond 637 due to its silicone softening content. The release effect will ultimately depend on the coating/release package used.
• ChemPro recommends using a CP Coat 750 / CP Release 830 package.

CP Debond 651 & 652 are designed to reduce tensile strength of the pulp while greatly improving softness in production of facial and toilet tissue.
Dilution to 1% or less before addition is recommended. This product has good dispersibility in hot or cold water. CP Debond 651 & 652 must be warmed to the minimum of 40 C to allow pumping for bulk handling. Application of 0.1 to 0.2% of CP Debond 652 per dry pulp gives good results (1 – 2 kg/MT).
Normally the increase in hand-feel (surface smoothness and flexibility) is accompanied by a loss of tensile strength, as strength and softness tend to be inversely related in tissue paper products, all other factors such as basis weight etc, being equal.

CP Debond 651 & 652, cationic debonders with silicone softening effect, are added to the pulp before it reaches the head-box. ChemPro furthermore offers lotions (CP-soft 60 and 90 series) that are applied in the converting process rather than on the paper machine.
