- Biopure™ GLDA In cleaning applications, household and industrial water supplies can contain high levels of metal ions such as calcium (hard water) and magnesium. The metallic ions in water can form insoluble scale (calcium carbonate). This scale precipitates onto surfaces leaving spots.
- Additionally, soils normally contain large quantities of metal ions. These metals in addition to those present in water will complex with the soil and form insoluble, hard to remove deposits and stains (like soap scum).
- Biopure™ GLDA addresses both of these problems. It is a strong chelating agent that bonds with metal ions in the water supply. This bonding action ties up metal ions and prevents scale formation from the water source used for cleaning.
- Soils form complexes with metal ions and bond to surfaces. These bonds make cleaning and removing these soil-metal complexes difficult. The strong chelating and dispersion properties of Biopure™ GLDA facilitate the removal of metal ions from soils leading to greatly improved cleaning performance. In addition, the dispersion properties of Biopure™ GLDA keeps soils suspended in the wash and rinse water (auto dish and laundry). This stops re-deposition of the soil onto cleaned surfaces and insures easy rinsing.
