About Us

American Farm Products Inc. has been providing superior quality products to farmers for 40 years! In 1982, convinced there was potential for a company that specialized in high quality silage preservatives, William Absalom, II formed American Farm Products Inc. Since then, American Farm Products Inc. has been manufacturing silage additives and nutritional supplements available in the US, Canada and select countries world wide. Lactobacillus buchneri bacteria were originally identified by researchers from buckets of corn silage that stayed surprisingly cool after being exposed to air for several days. These bacteria were isolated and grown in pure cultures to be used as an inoculant. These inoculants are promoted for preventing forage heating and spoilage after exposure to air.
