It is reddish and has a scaly texture. Traditionally, Alguaje Palm Fruit are consumed in juices and ice creams because there are high in Vitamin C. By squeezing the flesh of the seeds of the fruit, you get Buriti Oil. Buriti oil is an orange-reddish oil extracted from the fruit. The oil contains high concentrations of oleic acid, tocopherol and carotenoids, especially Beta-carotene.
