SABIC's Specialties Business ULTEM™ Resin 1000 is an unreinforced amorphous polyetherimide (PEI) resin that offers a high glass transition temperature (Tg) of 217°C. It features excellent mechanical, electrical, and dimensional properties at high temperatures. The material also offers very good chemical resistance for an amorphous material and is inherently flame retardant, offering UL94 V0 and 5V ratings and aerospace FAR 25.853 compliance. The material is RoHS-compliant, and the natural, uncolored material is halogen-free according to standards IEC 61249-2-21, IPC 4101E, and JEDEC JS709B. Compliance needs to be checked case by case for colored variants. The base material is transparent amber-colored but is also available in custom colors, both transparent and opaque. ISCC+-certified renewable bio-based solutions are available for this grade via differentiated color nomenclature. This product does not contain PFAS intentionally added during SHPP’s manufacturing process and are not expected to contain unintentional PFAS impurities. Its features include excellent mechanical, electrical, and dimensional properties up to high temperatures. The material also offers very good chemical resistance for an amorphous material and is inherently flame retardant, offering UL94 V0 and 5V ratings as well as aerospace FAR 25.853 compliance. ULTEM™ Resin 1010 is RoHS compliant, and the natural, uncolored material is halogen-free according to standards IEC 61249-2-21, IPC 4101E, and JEDEC JS709B. SABIC's Specialties Business ULTEM™ Resin CRS5001 Transparent is a standard flow polyetherimide copolymer (Tg 225C) with enhanced chemical resistance to strong acids, bases, aromatics, and ketones. It is ECO-compliant and has a UL94 V0 listing. An ideal alternative to polysulfone, ULTEM™ Resin CRS5001 Transparent meets the flame, smoke, and OEM toxicity requirements beneficial for aerospace interior applications such as connectors in hidden spaces. SABIC's Specialties Business NORYL PX9406P resin is a non-reinforced blend of polyphenylene ether (PPE) + polystyrene (PS). This injection moldable grade contains non-brominated, non-chlorinated flame retardant and carries a UL94 flame rating of 5VA at 2.5mm and V0 at 0.75mm. NORYL PX9406P is VDE certified IEC60335 and offers strong electrical performance at thin wall, high heat resistance, Low Warpage, low moisture absorption, and dimensional stability. This material is an excellent candidate for unattended appliance applications such as printed circuit board (PCB) holders, terminal blocks + connectors, circuit protection / relay / switches, motor end caps, control box / panels, and battery charger / fuse holders where VDE IEC60335 is required. SABIC's Specialties Business EXL9330 is an opaque (PC)- siloxane copolymer resin that offers extreme low temperature (-60 C) ductility in combination with excellent processability. This UV stabilized, medium flow resin features UL f1/V-0/5VA rating with non-chlorinated, non-brominated flame retardant agents for wide range of colors. EXL9330 is an excellent candidate for a broad range of applications such as mobile phones, tablets, industrial housings, electric circuit protection, personal safety helmets, electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) housings and connectors.
