This transformation converts ethoxy groups into hydroxyl groups, generating silanols. Subsequent condensation of silanols engenders siloxane bonds (-Si-O-Si-O-) and prompts eventual gelation. Often deployed as an intermediary, Dynasylan® SILBOND® 40 undergoes further hydrolysis to produce a binder suitable for diverse applications.
