- Product Background
Often neglected in terms of its impact on health, and considered to be an attack on nature and its balance, pollution has today become one of the major concerns to consumers and to public authorities. At skin level, photo-aging, induced by exposure to UV and responsible for premature aging, was the first factor to be incriminated. Since, studies are multi plying worldwide in order to demonstrate that environmental ("outdoor") polluti on but also pollution in homes ("indoor"), involving other harmful agents (PM2.5, PM10, heavy metals, PAH - Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons, etc.) also accelerate skin aging. At the core of this harmful process, known as POLLUAGING®, there is a cytoplasmic transcription factor, AhR (Aryl-hydrocarbon Receptor). It is activated in the presence of pollutants and regulates numerous cell functions such as inflammation, which cause changes to the barrier function and in melanogenesis (increase in dark spots). Therefore, development of a substance able to inhibit AhR represents a biological solution, complementary to that which provides the skin with a protective shield.
INVINCITY® is a concentrated form of Fucoidans (sulphated polysaccharides) of high molecular weight (higher than 100kDa) mainly made up of fucose, but also of xylose and glucuronic acid, produced from aqueous extraction of the intracellular polysaccharides of a brown alga, Ascophyllum nodosum, and from their concentration by ultrafiltration.
- Mechanism of Action
Invincity® inhibits the AhR pathway, thus preventi ng POLLUAGING® via:
- Dermo-epidermal restructuring
- Reduction in the appearance of dark spots
- Reduction in the formati on of redness
