Organic dextrose is a water-soluble sweetener that, in addition to contributing to flavor and texture, can increase the browning effects of the Maillard Reaction in baked goods. It also has some preservative qualities to enhance shelf life. Organic dextrose can be used to slightly lower the freezing point of ice cream.
