Wollastonite is a calcium inosilicate mineral (CaSiO₃) with a theoretical makeup of approximately 48% calcium oxide and 52% silicon dioxide. Wollastonite is usually white in color. It may contain small amounts of iron, magnesium, and manganese which can give it a gray, red, or brown tint. Wollastonite is an industrially important mineral. It is well known for its good fluorescence. It also has low moisture and absorption properties.

Metallurgical Grade Fluorspar, also referred to as ‘metspar’, calcium fluoride, fluorite or CaF₂ is an essential raw material for steel producers, ceramics and chemical industries. CaF₂ is composed of 51.1% calcium and 48.9% fluorine. Metspar is about 60%-85% calcium fluoride depending on where it is sourced and what residual elements are in the deposits. Metspar is widely used in the steel making process as a fluxing agent. The fluorspar affects the slag, (a stony waste matter separated from metals during the smelting or refining of ore) by making it more fluid. Metspar, or fluorspar in general, also decreases the melting point for the raw iron ore referred to as temperature control and removes additional impurities such as sulfur and phosphorus. Fluorspar takes its name from the Latin word “fluo” which means “flow” because as it lowers the melting point of ores to make steel, the ores flow more easily. Metspar also reduces any re-oxidation (for example rusting) of the final liquid metal.

Ziegler & Co. Naturprodukte Boruvit is the glass powder Boruvit acts as a functional filler in coatings by its transparency, which stays neutral with any pigmentation. It ensures a longer lifetime for the coating due to the absorption of UV-radiation. Being a mechanically hard filler, it will increase scratch resistance and the particle shape will improve the adhesion and co-adhesion of coatings.

SEPASIL® is for industrial use, mighty, workable silica sand deposits are of decisive importance. Nevertheless, chemical purity and constancy are not enough in order to apply silica directly as a raw material. In Quarzwerke plants silica sands are thoroughly prepared. The raw material has to pass exten-sive cleaning-, classification-, drying- and iron-free grinding processes in order to produce silica sands, flours and powders. For the production of silica flours and -powders with a defined grain size distribution separation processes are required in addition to iron-free grinding. Quarzwerke are able to produce silica powders with grain sizes down to 1 μm due to a fine-tuned combination of grind- and classification technology. Another refining step is the surface-treatment with silanes or silan-based substances which can be adjusted to the respective application.

Piq-White Ultra Premium Filler 30 is fine sized dry pulverized carbonate filler. Material is available in 50 lb. paper bags, palletized and stretch-wrapped, 1500 lb. mini bulk bags or in bulk. Piqua Minerals fillers are available with various average particle sizing for other filler applications.
