They are simply different varieties of the same plant. The difference is in the color of the fruit, the chemistry is similar and the differences are minimal, but more Pink Grapefruit Oil is produced.

Palo Santo is translated from Spanish as ‘Holy Wood’. With a long spiritual history, it has been used for healing and in cleansing rituals for thousands of years and is believed to help clear negative energy. Palo Santo oil is steam distilled from the wood of the trees, which are primarily located in South and Central America. The oil can be sustainably harvested from fallen trees and branches. Conventional or organic available The Avocado Tree is an evergreen native to Mexico and Central America but now grown worldwide. The fruit is a berry, consisting of a single large seed, surrounded by a buttery pulp. Avocado oil is obtained from the cold press of the fruit pulp, which is rich in vitamins, minerals, nutrients and fatty acids. The oil is usually a dark green color with a thick feeling texture. It has quite a strong fresh, sweet and nutty aroma. A highly moisturizing oil, Avocado oil has been embraced by the cosmetic industry and is a very popular product with a variety of uses.

Conventional or organic available Turmeric (Curcuma longa), also known as Indian Saffron and Indian Yellow Root, is a perennial tropical herb belonging to the ginger (Zingiberaceae) family. Native to India and Southeast Asia this golden spice has been used for thousands of years for culinary, religious and medicinal purposes. It is a staple ingredient in Asian and Middle Eastern cooking and has long been used in Ayurvedic, Siddha and Traditional Chinese Medicine for treating a wide range of ailments. Turmeric essential oil is steam distilled from the ‘cured’ roots (rhizomes). It is yellow in color and has a distinctive, spicy, smoky, woody aroma. Turmeric was used in the ancient Ayurveda and Unani medicine system to treat a large number of health-related problems such as indigestion, common cold, liver ailments, etc. It was also applied to wounds and cuts as it comprises antiseptic and antibacterial properties.

Chamaemelum nobilehas daisy-like white flowers and procumbent stems; the leaves are alternate, bipinnate, finely dissected, and downy to glabrous. The solitary, terminal flowerheads, rising 20–30cm (8–12in) above the ground, consist of prominent yellow disk flowers and silver-white ray flowers. The flowering time in the Northern Hemisphere is June and July, and its fragrance is sweet, crisp, fruity and herbaceous. Although the plant is often confused with German chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla), its morphology, properties and chemical composition are markedly different. Roman chamomile (C. nobileL.) has a history of use in traditional medicine since the Middle Ages. The European cultivation of the plant started in England in the 16th century. The plant was listed first in the pharmacopeia of Würtenberg as a carminative, painkiller, diuretic and digestive aid. Joachim Camerarius was the first to discover and name chamaemelum nobile in 1598 in Rome. In Egypt, chamaemelum nobile was used as a symbol of dedication to their gods.

Conventional or organic available With a strong, clean, purifying citrus scent, Lemon Oil is light and refreshing, with many uplifting benefits for the mind, body and soul. The word lemon is derived from the Arabic laymun and Persian limun (words, which were generic terms for all citrus fruit). The exact origin of the lemon has remained a mystery, though it is widely presumed that lemons first grew in India, northern Burma, and China. In South and South East Asia, it was known for its antiseptic properties and it was used as an antidote for various poisons. The Arab conquerors took the Lemon with them around the Mediterranean basin introducing it around AD 1000 and 1200 into Sicily, Spain and North Africa where it quickly adapted to the Mediterranean climate. The fruit was well known in Europe by the middle ages, and Greeks and Romans were advocates of its therapeutic properties. Lemon essential oil reached the height of its fame when the British began using the citrus fruit to counteract the effects of scurvy. It was introduced to Australia by the Early Settlers. It is extracted from the fresh fruit peel by cold expression. Lemon oil blends well with many other essential oils making it a popular oil for herbalists and those who practice the healing art of aromatherapy.

Conventional or organic available The olive tree (Olea europaea) is a small species of tree in the family Oleaceae. It is native to the coastal areas of the eastern Mediterranean Basin, Africa and parts of Asia. It is widely naturalized in southern and eastern Australia, particularly in temperate regions.It is most common in south-eastern South Australia, but is also naturalized in south-eastern and central Queensland, in the sub-coastal regions of central and northern New South Wales, in western and central Victoria, in many other parts of South Australia, and in the coastal and sub-coastal districts of south-western Western Australia. The history of Olive Farming in Australia dates back to the early 1800’s. Olives were first planted in groves around Parramatta near Sydney. It is an evergreen tree that grows between 2-12 meters in height and has numerous branches. It is a subtropical broad-leaved evergreen tree with edible fruit. Its leaves, leathery and lance-shaped, are dark green above and silvery on the underside and are paired opposite each other on the twig. The wood is resistant to decay. If the top dies back, a new trunk will often arise from the roots. The olive fruit is classed botanically as a drupe, similar to the peach or plum. It has long been a part of traditional Chinese medicine and was even mentioned in the Old Testament of the Bible as an anointing oil. The oil is steam distilled from the bark of the Cinnamomum Cassia, an evergreen native to China and Burma, but now grown across Asia, the US, UK and India. It is a member of the same family as traditional Cinnamon, and although similar in smell, Cassia oil has slightly sweeter and more subtle aroma. An uplifting and soothing oil, Cassia has many benefits. It is antimicrobial, antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal and has astringent properties. This beautiful oil is a middle note, has a myriad of uses and is mind clearing and boosts emotional well-being. Cassia oil – aka Chinese Cinnamon, is one of the oldest spices known to mankind.

Tangerine oil is extracted from Citrus reticulata of the Rutaceae family. The name comes from Tangier in Morocco, the port from which the first tangerines were shipped to Europe. Tangerines originate from China but are now grown in a variety of regions around the globe including Australia. Tangerine has a long history of use in Chinese culture and herbal health practices. Citrus reticulate are small trees about 2-4 m high with slender branches, and lance shaped shiny evergreen leaves. Flowers are white and attractive to bees. The fruit is similar to the mandarin. Tangerine oil is extracted from the peel by cold expression. This uplifting zesty citrus oil is refreshing and rejuvenating with many beneficial compounds.

This coat is removed during a milling process and it is rich in vitamin, minerals, proteins, and essential oils. Conventional or organic available Salvia sclarea, clary, or clary sage, is a biennial or short-lived herbaceous perennial in the genus Salvia. It is also known as ‘clear eye’. It is native to the northernMediterranean, along with some areas in North Africa and Central Asia. It is cultivated worldwide. The plant has a lengthy history as a medicinal herb, and is currently grown for its essential oil. The plant is a biennial or perennial generally reaches a height of one meter and has large hairy leaves which are green with a hint of purple. The small flowers are purple or blue in color. The producing plant organs are the flowering tops and leaves. The name is derived from the Latin 'Claris' that means 'clear'. It was known in the Middle Ages as 'Oculus Christi' - the 'Eye of Christ' and was a highly esteemed medicine. Like its relative sage, clary tea, the leaf juice in ale or beer, was recommended for many types of women’s problems, including delayed or painful menstruation. It was once used to stop night sweating in tuberculosis patients. An astringent is gargled, douched and poured over skin wounds. It is combined with other herbs for kidney problems. The clary seeds form a thick mucilage when soaked for a few minutes and placed in the eye, helps to removed, small irritating particles. A tea of the leaves is also used as an eyewash. Clary is also used to reduce muscle spasms. It is used today mainly to treat digestive problems such as gas and indigestion. It is also regarded as a tonic, calming herb that helps relieve premenstrual problems. Because of its estrogen-stimulating action, clary sage is most effective when levels of this hormone are low. The plant can therefore be a valuable remedy for complaints associated with menopause, particularly hot flashes.

Lemon Myrtle (Backhousia citriodora) is a slow-growing, subtropical flowering plant with a strong lemon scent, native to southeast Queensland, Australia. Since before 1788, the Australian aboriginals have used lemon myrtle both in food and in medicinal treatments. In 1853, lemon myrtle was given its scientific name Backhousia citriodora by botanist Ferdiand von Mueller. The antimicrobial properties of the oil were discovered in the 1920’s but the oil wasn’t distributed internationally until the 1990’s. International demand for lemon myrtle is now growing every year. Considering its many diverse uses and effective properties, it is not surprising that it is growing in popularity. Lemon myrtle has 4-7 times the antioxidant value than blueberry. Antioxidants have many uses in the cosmetics and food industries and have been known to slow the aging process by reducing oxidative stress in the body. Lemon myrtle can also be used in a wide range of beauty and body products, in household cleaning products and has a wide range of medicinal uses.

Conventional or organic available A potent and powerful oil, Oregano has been used since ancient times in traditional practice. Oregano Oil is derived from the Origanum vulgare - a hardy, busy perennial herb (part of the mint family) which grows up to 90cm. Origanum vulgare is native to Europe, however it is now commonly cultivated all over the world. Oregano Oil is produced by the steam distillation of the leaves and shoots. It is a clear mobile liquid with a strong herbaceous, swett, dry, peppery odor.

Conventional or organic available Eucalyptus radiata is loved for its fresh, pungent, and fruity aroma. Rich in cineoles, it is considered the most therapeutically versatile of all eucalyptus oils. It has the gentlest aroma of the Eucalypts but is still as potent as other oils. Belonging to the Myrtaceae family, Eucalyptus radiata is an evergreen tree which grows up to 15 meters (48ft) in height, although occasionally some trees achieve 30 meters (97ft). It is a graceful tree with a weeping habit and a dense, spreading, pendulous crown. Its leaves are glossy and lanceolate (tapering to a point) with a strong aromatic fragrance. The bark is fibrous and gray-brown in color, with smaller branches that become smoother. The Aborigines used a wide range of natural plant remedies, and these would vary from tribe to tribe according to the indigenous species that were available to them. Wherever any species of eucalyptus grew they were used to heal wounds, cuts and burns, as well as treat various respiratory conditions. Steam distillation of the fresh or semi-dried leaves and twigs yields a colorless volatile oil that has a fresh, camphoraceous aroma with a slightly herbaceous and woody backnote. In general, the aroma of radiata is warmer, sweeter and softer than other Eucalypts. The natural chemistry is also noticeably different to the globulus, typically containing a less 1,8 cineole which is the component that imparts its medicinal-type odor. The essential oil of Eucalyptus Radiata is extracted via steam distillation of the leaves and green branchlets. The tree leaves are hand harvested and steam distilled immediately.
