The bark is fibrous in mature trees. Flowers are cream colored and are followed by small woody capsules. The juvenile leaves are ovate (7 cm long) and dull green. Adult leaves are lanceolate and glossy green (to 17 cm). The leaves are intensely aromatic and are used as a bushfood spice. E.olida is classified as a threatened species in the wild, but is becoming more common in cultivation due to itsessential oil and spice qualities. E. olida leaf is also used as a dried spice product in bushfood cooking, especially with fruit and in herbal teas. It has high anti-oxidant activity. The word lemon is derived from the Arabic laymun and Persian limun (words, which were generic terms for all citrus fruit). The exact origin of the lemon has remained a mystery, though it is widely presumed that lemons first grew in India, northern Burma, and China. The Arab conquerors took the Lemon with them around the Mediterranean basin introducing it around AD 1000 and 1200 into Sicily, Spain and North Africa where it quickly adapted to the Mediterranean climate. The fruit was well known in Europe by the middle ages, and Greeks and Romans were advocates of its therapeutic properties. Lemon essential oil reached the height of its fame when the British began using the citrus fruit to counteract the effects of scurvy. It was introduced to Australia by the Early Settlers. It is extracted from the fresh fruit peel by cold expression. Lemon oil blends well with many other essential oils making it a popular oil for herbalists and those who practice the healing art of aromatherapy.

Conventional or organic available Juniper Berry Oil has a well-liked refreshing, yet warm and subtle balsamic aroma with many therapeutic benefits. Juniper berries themselves are high in flavonoid and polyphenol antioxidants that have strong free radical scavenging abilities. Because they were seen as protectors of health — both emotional and physical health — during the Medieval period, juniper berries were believed to help ward off witches. In fact, for years French hospital wards burned juniper and rosemary to help protect patients against lingering bacteria and infections. A juniper berry is the female seed cone produced by the various species of junipers. It is not a true berry but a cone with unusually fleshy and merged scales, which gives it a berry-like appearance. The cones from a handful of species, especially Juniperus communis, are used as a spice, particularly in European cuisine, and also give gin its distinctive flavor. Juniper berries may be the only spice derived from conifers.

Like other citrus oils, Clementine is rich in the cleansing chemical component Limonene. In Ancient times Clementines were referred to as the “crown jewel” of the Mandarin family. The clergyman Pierre Clement is credited with crossing a Mandarin and an Orange. This coupling resulted in a seedless mandarin with loose skin and a smooth and shiny appearance. Clementine is another variety of mandarin like Tangerine. It is sweet and easy to peel. It is grown commercially in Algeria, China, Spain, Turkey, Morocco, Brazil, Egypt, the United States, Iran and Argentina.

Conventional or organic available Lime is indigenous to Southeast Asia, in the Indo-Malaya. The plant was introduced into Asia and Egypt by the merchants of the Middle East in the tenth century. From Saudi Arabia, it was introduced to Africa and reached Europe through the Spanish invaders, in the thirteenth century Christopher Columbus took Limes to America. The British Sailors used Lime to prevent Scurvy. The Early Settlers introduced Lime to Australia in the 19th Century. Lime oil is extracted from the fresh fruit peel by cold expression. Blends well with Cedarwood, Clary Sage, Geranium, Grapefruit, Lavender, Lemon, Mandarin, Neroli, Sweet Orange, Rosemary, Rosewood, Tangerine and Ylang-Ylang.

A colorless to pale yellow oil, Spearmint oil is obtained by the steam distillation of the leaves and flowering tops of the Mentha spicata plant. Citrus reticulate are small trees about 2-4 m high with slender branches, and lance shaped shiny evergreen leaves. Flowers are white and attractive to bees. The fruit is similar to the mandarin. It is native to the northernMediterranean, along with some areas in North Africa and Central Asia. It is cultivated worldwide. The plant has a lengthy history as a medicinal herb, and is currently grown for its essential oil. The plant is a biennial or perennial generally reaches a height of one meter and has large hairy leaves which are green with a hint of purple. The small flowers are purple or blue in color. The producing plant organs are the flowering tops and leaves. The name is derived from the Latin 'Claris' that means 'clear'. It was known in the Middle Ages as 'Oculus Christi' - the 'Eye of Christ' and was a highly esteemed medicine. Like its relative sage, clary tea, the leaf juice in ale or beer, was recommended for many types of women’s problems, including delayed or painful menstruation. It was once used to stop night sweating in tuberculosis patients. An astringent is gargled, douched and poured over skin wounds. It is combined with other herbs for kidney problems. The clary seeds form a thick mucilage when soaked for a few minutes and placed in the eye, helps to removed, small irritating particles. A tea of the leaves is also used as an eyewash. Clary is also used to reduce muscle spasms. It is used today mainly to treat digestive problems such as gas and indigestion. It is also regarded as a tonic, calming herb that helps relieve premenstrual problems. Because of its estrogen-stimulating action, clary sage is most effective when levels of this hormone are low. The plant can therefore be a valuable remedy for complaints associated with menopause, particularly hot flashes.

Chamaemelum nobilehas daisy-like white flowers and procumbent stems; the leaves are alternate, bipinnate, finely dissected, and downy to glabrous. The solitary, terminal flowerheads, rising 20–30cm (8–12in) above the ground, consist of prominent yellow disk flowers and silver-white ray flowers. The flowering time in the Northern Hemisphere is June and July, and its fragrance is sweet, crisp, fruity and herbaceous. Although the plant is often confused with German chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla), its morphology, properties and chemical composition are markedly different. Roman chamomile (C. nobileL.) has a history of use in traditional medicine since the Middle Ages. The European cultivation of the plant started in England in the 16th century. The plant was listed first in the pharmacopeia of Würtenberg as a carminative, painkiller, diuretic and digestive aid. Joachim Camerarius was the first to discover and name chamaemelum nobile in 1598 in Rome. In Egypt, chamaemelum nobile was used as a symbol of dedication to their gods.

Lemon Myrtle (Backhousia citriodora) is a slow-growing, subtropical flowering plant with a strong lemon scent, native to southeast Queensland, Australia. Since before 1788, the Australian aboriginals have used lemon myrtle both in food and in medicinal treatments. In 1853, lemon myrtle was given its scientific name Backhousia citriodora by botanist Ferdiand von Mueller. The antimicrobial properties of the oil were discovered in the 1920’s but the oil wasn’t distributed internationally until the 1990’s. International demand for lemon myrtle is now growing every year. Considering its many diverse uses and effective properties, it is not surprising that it is growing in popularity. Lemon myrtle has 4-7 times the antioxidant value than blueberry. Antioxidants have many uses in the cosmetics and food industries and have been known to slow the aging process by reducing oxidative stress in the body. Lemon myrtle can also be used in a wide range of beauty and body products, in household cleaning products and has a wide range of medicinal uses.

Conventional or organic available A potent and powerful oil, Oregano has been used since ancient times in traditional practice. Oregano Oil is derived from the Origanum vulgare - a hardy, busy perennial herb (part of the mint family) which grows up to 90cm. Origanum vulgare is native to Europe, however it is now commonly cultivated all over the world. Oregano Oil is produced by the steam distillation of the leaves and shoots. It is a clear mobile liquid with a strong herbaceous, swett, dry, peppery odor.

Conventional or organic available Eucalyptus radiata is loved for its fresh, pungent, and fruity aroma. Rich in cineoles, it is considered the most therapeutically versatile of all eucalyptus oils. It has the gentlest aroma of the Eucalypts but is still as potent as other oils. Belonging to the Myrtaceae family, Eucalyptus radiata is an evergreen tree which grows up to 15 meters (48ft) in height, although occasionally some trees achieve 30 meters (97ft). It is a graceful tree with a weeping habit and a dense, spreading, pendulous crown. Its leaves are glossy and lanceolate (tapering to a point) with a strong aromatic fragrance. The bark is fibrous and gray-brown in color, with smaller branches that become smoother. The Aborigines used a wide range of natural plant remedies, and these would vary from tribe to tribe according to the indigenous species that were available to them. Wherever any species of eucalyptus grew they were used to heal wounds, cuts and burns, as well as treat various respiratory conditions. Steam distillation of the fresh or semi-dried leaves and twigs yields a colorless volatile oil that has a fresh, camphoraceous aroma with a slightly herbaceous and woody backnote. In general, the aroma of radiata is warmer, sweeter and softer than other Eucalypts. The natural chemistry is also noticeably different to the globulus, typically containing a less 1,8 cineole which is the component that imparts its medicinal-type odor. The essential oil of Eucalyptus Radiata is extracted via steam distillation of the leaves and green branchlets. The tree leaves are hand harvested and steam distilled immediately.
