Certified Organic AllyEster™ EP ethyl palmate is produced by esterifying the entire free fatty acid content of the pericarp—the outer oily flesh—of the fruit of the African oil palm, Elaeis guineensis. Both the palm oil and the ethyl alcohol used to esterify the oil are certified organic. The esterification process used to produce AllyEster™ EP is also certified organic. The esterification process is accomplished in the United States. Before esterification, the palm oil has been refined, bleached and deo- dorized to provide the cleanest product possible. Since the level of residual proteinaceous material in refined, bleached and deodorized vegetable oils is typically 0%, the allergenic potential is extremely low. Ethyl palmate is considered non-allergenic.i Elaeis guineensis is a tropical forest palm native to Africa. When grown in plantations it produces 3–8 times more oil from a given area.ii AllyEster™ EP is an extremely versatile ester. Due to its formulary effects and broad characteristics, it can stand on its own as a principal formulating ingredient as well as be used to replace a multitude of ingredients that are often more expensive. AllyEster™ EP is an excellent high quality emollient, and an elegant moisturizer with a fine silky feel on skin.

Vegetable Glycerine is a Kosher product derived from palm, and it is GMO-free and allergen-free. Glycerine is the result of a sophisticated extraction method called hydrolysis. This system is based on the fats and oils of a raw product (typically palm or coconut) that are then split into crude glycerol fats, under the combined action of water, temperature and pressure. These temperatures can exceed 400° degrees and the material is usually kept under pressure for 20-30 minutes. What is actually occurring is a sort of counter-flow where the water absorbs glycerol from the fatty acid phase of the oil production. After this phase this glycerol is isolated and further distilled to give buyers a standard 99% Glycerine product (our New Directions Variety is minimum 99.7%). Vegetable Glycerine is a clear, colorless, and odorless viscous liquid. It is used as an agent in cosmetics, shampoos, soaps, and other household items. Because it is soluble in both, water and alcohol, its versatility is a major benefactor in its purported growth and popularity within the manufacturing sector. It is invaluable as a natural source ingredient with emollient-like properties which can smooth and soften the skin and it assists the skin surface to retain moisture. This helps to explain why it is one of the most popular cosmetic additives used today.
