They are alkyl polyethylene glycol ether based on C10 Guerbet alcohol and ethylene oxide and are available with a low, medium and high EO degree. Dependent on the EO degree the non diluted grades are cloudy liquids or yellowish pastes which become clear at 50°C. Water diluted grades, indicated by the index XP ...9, are clear liquids at room temperature. These products provide excellent dynamic and wetting properties. Contrary to other nonionic surfactants, the XP types provide high cmc values (critical micelle concentration).
