This semi-finished product in panel form was developed primarily as a substitute for metals (steel, aluminum etc.) and its main purchasers can be found in the automotive industry. This is where it is frequently pressed on the industrial scale into complex 3D structural components, although it is also used as panels.

Plenco® 08218 is an 18% glass-filled polyester bulk molding compound characterized as an electrical grade, but has many outstanding properties that make it suitable for a broad range of applications because of its excellent electrical resistance and mechanical strength. Customers have found this material useful for commercial/industrial heavy duty electrical parts, enclosures for power distribution equipment, fuse holders, circuit breaker cases, electric motor housings and components. It is available in bulk or extruded form and colors upon request. It is UL recognized under file E40654.

Plenco® 06582 is a rubber modified phenolic molding compound, offering excellent heat resistant properties, along with improved mechanical strength at elevated temperatures. UL recognized under component file E40654. 06582 is available in black.

Plenco® 00755 is a melamine-phenolic copolymer molding compound offering excellent electrical and flame resistant properties. UL recognized under component file E40654. 00755 is available only in brown. 00755 was qualified under military specification MIL-M-14 (superseded by ASTM D-5948) TYPE CMG and batches can, if requested and paid for, be tested for certification to the standard.

Cuyahoga Plastics EB5000-1 is A U.L recognized, flame retardant, mineral-filled, glass fiber reinforced polyester thermoset molding compound suitable for compression, transfer, and injection molding. It is currently supplied in bulk form, cut preforms, and box length extrusions.

Customers have found this material useful for automotive applications. It is not intended for electrical insulating applications. 06301 is available in black.

Toray Toray Cetex® MC1200 is a thermoplastic bulk molding compound (BMC) based upon Cetex TC1200 PEEK thermoplastic uni-directional tape. Toray Cetex® MC1200 is offered on standard-modulus fibers lengths of up to 25.4 mm (1”). Intermediate modulus fibers and alternative lengths may also be available. Thermoplastic bulk molding compound allows part fabrication with short cycle times. This product allows complex shapes to be made with varying wall thickness, integrated ribs, and reinforcing structure. Many composite compression molded parts are used to replace metal parts for weight savings or they replace plastic injection molded parts where higher strengths or stiffness are required. Toray Cetex® MC1200-4A, PEEK, 25.4 mm (1”) represents standard-modulus AS-4 fiber chopped to 25.4 mm (1”) in length.

Polynt Group BMC RF 600-25 is a bulk molding compound based on an unsaturated polyester resin, fire retardant grade, halogen-free, reinforced with glass fibers. This BMC has been developed for electrical application. Excellent mechanical properties and excellent fire protection grade are combined into the BMC RF 600-25.
