Sorbitol is a sugar alcohol being either white crystal powder or colorless liquid. It is very easy to be dissolved in water, slightly soluble in ethanol and acetic acid, insoluble in organic solvents. It has no smell and contained a taste of cooling sweetness. Sorbitol is about 50-70% as sweet as sucrose and contains the same heat value. It can be used as a sugar replacement in various applications..
