- General Information
- BLENDEX® Product Highlights is an anionic compatibility and stabilizing agent designed to improve the compatibility of liquid fertilizers with pesticides, as well as combinations of two or more pesticides mixed for single spray applications. BLENDEX® Product Highlights improves the dispersion of multi-component spray mixes and results in more uniform application of pesticide active ingredients. BLENDEX® Product Highlights can positively affect pesticide spray application and pesticide efficacy. BLENDEX® Product Highlights has some capabilities as a wetter/spreader and as a buffering agent.
- Do not apply this product in such a manner as to directly or through drift expose workers or other persons. Do not spray pesticides if conditions of thermal inversion exist, or if wind direction and speed may cause drift onto adjacent areas. With both aerial and ground applications, the use of a drift control or spray deposition additive (in accordance with pesticide(s) label(s) directions) may reduce the potential for drift to occur. Drift minimization is the responsibility of the applicator. Consult your local and State agricultural authorities for information regarding avoiding or minimizing spray drift.

- BLENDEX® Product Highlights should be added to improve spray mix compatibility according to the following directions:
- Mixing Guidelines
MULTIPLE PESTICIDE SPRAY MIXES :
- Suggested Use Rates: ½-5 pints per 100 gallons. Prior to any pesticide application all spray mixing and application equipment must be clean. Carefully observe all cleaning directions on the pesticide(s) label(s).
- MIXING: Agitate the spray mix as much as possible. Start adding BLENDEX® Product Highlights at the lowest rate. Increase the amount of BLENDEX® Product Highlights as needed to resolve the spray mix incompatibility. Do not exceed the highest rate of BLENDEX® Product Highlights which is recommended.
PESTICIDE/LIQUID FERTILIZER SPRAY MIXES
BLENDEX® Product Highlights should be added according to the following directions:
- Procedure for determining the amount of BLENDEX® Product Highlights to use:
- Measure one gallon of liquid fertilizer or water in a gallon jug.
- Add 1, 2 or 3 teaspoons of BLENDEX® Product Highlights to one gallon of liquid fertilizer or water and mix.
- Add pesticide, shake well and observe stability of the dispersion. Good dispersion for five to ten minutes indicates a sufficient amount of BLENDEX® Product Highlights being used.
NOTE: One (1) teaspoon per gallon approximates one (1) pint per 100 gallons of spray.
- Fill the spray tank with the required amount of fertilizer or water. NOTE: A better dispersion of the pesticide may be obtained when:
- mixing an emulsifiable concentrate pesticide with a fertilizer – one volume of pesticide is premixed with two volumes of water and that mixture is added last. -OR-
- mixing a wettable powder pesticide with a fertilizer – the pesticide is premixed with 10 gallons of liquid fertilizer and that mixture is added last.
- Add the required amount of BLENDEX® Product Highlights (1-3 pints per 100 gallons of liquid fertilizer or water as determined by step 1) and mix thoroughly. Suggested rates of BLENDEX® Product Highlights to test with the following grades of fertilizer are:
1-3 Pints/100 Gallons 2-3 Pints/100 Gallons 32-0-0 20-20-20 10-34-0 6-16-6 30-0-0 20-5-5 10-24-0 5-23-5 28-0-0 15-15-0 10-15-5 5-10-10 25-0-0 15-10-8 10-5-5 4-10-10 15-10-6 8-24-0 3-20-12 12-48-8 8-16-8 12-12-6 7-21-7 Suggested rates of BLENDEX® Product Highlights to test with fertilizers plus pesticides are 2-3 pints per 100 gallons. Suggested rates of BLENDEX® Product Highlights to test with water plus pesticides are 1-3 pints per 100 gallons
4. Add the pesticide(s) and mix well before spraying
WETTER/BUFFER :
- Use ½-2 pints of BLENDEX® Product Highlights per 100 gallons of water to lower the pH of the spray solution. The rates of BLENDEX® Product Highlights may vary with water conditions and will depend upon the alkalinity of the water used. The use of a pH measuring device is recommended. Final spray solution pH for many pesticides should be in the 4-7 range. NOTE: Do not buffer copper products below pH 5.0.
